Ishibashi sensei is very tricky. First you must understand before she grades your paper, she evaluates you as a student. If she considers you an apt pupil, you will receive an apt grade. If not, your grade will reflect accordingly. Teaching is her life, passion. The class is more than hw, tests. It is her approval. If she approves you pass/tbc

The class is very hard but she is very nice. She does expect at times for you to comprehend like your Japanese but she only does that because she wants you to learn the language fully. It is not easy! do not take if you just want an easy going class. Lots of homework too. If your prepared to learn then take her

This is THE most incompetent teacher on the planet. She is unorganized, incompetent, and painful. She's one of those teachers that makes a circle out of the chairs, she has tried to collect homework that wasn't due yet, she's forgotten about homework that was due for a week, she will not tell you what to study, she's miserable. Take Marken sensei.

Ishibashi is a great language teacher, and is very skilled at teaching the language. However, when it comes to history and culture. She has a hard time making coming to class worthwhile.

Ishibashi is a wonderful woman, very nice, and funny at times too. However, she is often unprepaired for class and gives out lots of random quizzes and such that are not on the syllabus. This is a homework intensive course. She is understanding most of times if you don't have an assignment, but not all the time. She also loses things sometimes.

Still a great teacher the second time around. She's really organized and enjoyable to learn from. I definitely recommend her the most out of all the Japanese teachers.

Ishibashi-sensei is one of my favorite teachers of all time. She's really kind and interesting to listen to. Her teaching and study methods are very clear. The coursework has been a little too easy for me, however.

Ishibashi-sensei! I'm in her class for the third year now, and she's still one of my best professors, DESPITE THE FACT WE'RE USING THE GROSS GENKI BOOK. And everyone in the class hates that book, so it makes things fun. See you next semester for 312, Ishibashi-sensei!!

One of the most hard-working teachers at ODU. Not an easy subject at all, so make sure that you take the time to study independently. Take the initiative to do things right, figure out what you can on your own, then use her for clarification.

Ishibashi sensei and Putney sensei make a great team. if you give effort in the class. Alot of homework, but thats expected with F.Langs. She gives pop quizes but very thorough reviews for exams. If you pay attention and do homework, you're 100% guaranteed an A.

I love Ishibashi-sensei! This class is worth six credits, so of course there's lots to learn and lots of homework and, yeah, lots of quizzes/tests. But she is seriously a great teacher. Japanese is a hard language to teach, but she does it well. She's the light-hearted type and she's even nice and patient with difficult, hard-headed students!

Ishibashi is very nice but she definitly picks favorites in the class. Be ready for a ton of homework and lots of pop quizzes. She explains things pretty well but there are days where she explains very badly. Be prepared to work really hard in order to make a good grade. Her class is great but she's very difficult.

Ishibashi-sensei is one of THE most fun, helpful and humble professors on campus. She really cares about each student. Most of her assignments are easy enough and makes sure that each student earns their grades. If the grade is crappy, you earned it.

I think Ishibashi-sensei is the best teacher ever, even if she's a bit scary sometimes. If you make sure to study and keep up with your homework, you shouldn't have any problems, but if you don't the class can be pretty hard. She's very easy to talk to and really takes an interest in the students. I think she's great.

Overall, she's ok. Tough grader, and requires a lot from her students. A bit overly sarcastic. Upper level courses are a lot more difficult. Make sure your other classes don't require so much work.
