My favorite teacher for sure. Classes are fun, always joking around. She has a ton of knowledge so that is great. Very fair as far as grading goes so as long as you put in effort and seem like youre trying your best you'll get an A. Likes movie quotes.

Pam Marshall is the best!! She is so funny and so brilliant! She truly helped me become better in the lab and it was a blast along the way. I would highly recommend her! Marshall rocks!!

Comment:

Dr. Marshall is great. She's funny, passionate about genetics, and cares about her student's success. Genetics can be a boring and difficult topic, but she made lectures interesting. There is Mastering Genetics homework and tests, no clickers. She offers some extra credit opportunities. Tests are challenging but go to lecture and study.

She is a great professor. Tests can be hard, so you really need to know the material. You need to memorize the information from the PowerPoint slides (which is a lot), but also understand the material. She's also realllyyyyy funny!

Took her for both lecture and lab. Lecture tests are hard but multiple choice and info is all in powerpoints. Extra credit was given which helped. She was always nice and helpful during office hours. Lab assignments weren't bad and she was a quick grader which was nice. Overall I would definitely recommend her for both lab and lecture.

Marshall keeps the lectures entertaining, but you will have to put in effort if you want an A. There are a total of 4 exams and a final. If you spend time reviewing the actual powerpoints, the tests shouldn't be too bad. The material at the beginning is EASY but will get much more complex. There was also a curve of 7-10% for 34 of the exams.

Love Dr. Marshall! She knows her stuff and is great at teaching the material. She's entertaining and there is never a dull moment in class. She offers several opportunities to earn extra credit, so take advantage of it! I would definitely recommend taking her class!

Comment:

One of the best professors at ASU. Always welcomed questions in class, and was very nice during her office hours. Dr. Marshall really seemed to care about the well-being of the students, and took extra steps to insure that we did well, including offering extra credit. Also had a great rapport with the students, and made lecture entertaining.

I think Dr. M is a good professor, but terrible at explaining things when asking questions. Her tests were easier than most, and I did well in the class, however I could get a better answer from the internet than from her. She flies through her lectures.

How can you not like this class? You've seen all this stuff before, how could you possibly not do well on stuff you already know or are familiar with? Dr. Marshall tries to simplify things for people and does a great job with telling you what will be tested on. She gives you the tests from last year and outlines study guides for you. Great teacher!

We know Genetics is a hard class, but Dr. Marshall made it fun, fair and fantastic (FFF). Much more easier and understandable than at main campus. DONT EVER TAKE THIS CLASS AT MAIN...TRUST ME. Hook up with Dr. Marshall and You will PASS, but make sure you study!

Wery easy, learned a lot from the class. Labs are time consuming but just do what she says. Don't even have to show up to class. Study the study guide and the previous exams. Exams are almost exactly the same. Great teacher and very helpful.
