Comment:

Gordy always give A LOT of homework, but it's not all difficult and if you follow the in class material, you will do perfectly fine. The material can be difficult, but he goes far out of his way to help you with any problem. Best thing that ever happened to TCC.

Comment:

This is a very labor intensive class. Lots of homework, and tests are very challenging. I put more effort into this class than my Calc 2 and Physics, which is insane considering this is an INTRODUCTION to programming. Nice teacher and good lectures, but my god the work load is insane!

Best professor I have ever had. Extremely helpful and took time after class to thoroughly explain any issues I had. If I still did not understand, he broke down the problem even further until I was back on track. If I could take every class with him, I would.

Comment:

Prof. Gordy is a great teacher: friendly, super organized, loves teaching, and very knowledgeable. No penalty for being absent or late. He is great at explaining and will not criticize you. He randomly checks 50% of the HW and your lowest HW grade is dropped. Many assignments have EC parts. He accepts late work until the last day for only 10% off.

Really nice guy and good teacher too. Lots of hw but not too difficult. Always willing to help. In intro to engineering, he taught basic coding with matlab and how to use excel. Really helpful.

Comment:

Mr. Gordy is a great teacher. He will answer any and all questions that you have for him. The homework can be a bit much, but he always allows you to turn in items late for a small deduction in score. When taking tests, make sure to pay attention to detail.

Mr. Gordy is a great teacher. He will always make sure you know what's going on and he never makes you feel dumb. He's very willing to meet you outside of class hours to make sure you're good to go. Definitely would take another class taught by him.

Prof. Gordy might be my favorite prof that I've had at TCC. That being said, people might warn you that his class is hard... it's not. That's if you know how to manage your time correctly to get your work done. He is very organized, available outside of class, extremely knowledgeable, and just a delightful person in general to be around.

Awesome Teacher! Knows his stuff. Presents information in a clear and organized manner. Provides amazing power points that spell out the pertinent information to help you understand the content. Best engineering I've ever had! Extremely helpful , especially when it comes to explaining content that you don't get right away.

Professor Gordy did a great job of explaining C++ to a programming-illiterate student such as myself. He was tough, but fair. The tests are rough and the homework load is very heavy.

Super Organized, timely updates on blackboard, full course materials available both on BB and on his faculty website. He is always helpful, but sometimes slightly too fast on the pacing. Sometimes there is not time to get feedback on homework before it is tested. The notes are worthless without going to class!

I took several classes with him. He is very helpful and quick to give help when asked. Typically the subject matter was hard, but thorough notes and referenced material helped to learn the material. If you want an easy class, he is not the right professor, but if you are eager to learn, he's the right guy.

This professor is overrated. Everyone thinks he's so great but he cannot teach and flies through material expecting you to know it already. He taught an 8 week statics class over the summer and made it virtually impossible to keep up. I do not recommend him at all. He's a nice man but he shouldn't be a teacher.

Very good professor. Teaches very clearly. Homework is very easy. Tests are easy. Class projects are fun. I took an easy class with not much to learn though so I don't know how he teaches with ones that matter. Take him for the easy classes, maybe not for the ones you need to actually learn.

Prof. Gordy is the best professor I have had. He does move through the material quickly, I sometimes found it hard to keep up with copying the notes as he wrote on the board. That problem aside, the class was very well organized and the material was presented quite clearly. Slides for every lecture and every assignment is posted online from day1
