his lecture is very hard to understand, and he assigns tough homework every week, computer projects are very difficult to do, his tests are not very hard but he is a tough grader. he skipped many classed and let other teachers to teach, the book he asked us to buy is not useful at all, it is a book written by another professor at UD. do not take.

Monk is definitely a great option for 353. He's a really nice guy, a relatively clear lecturer, and very approachable. Weekly HW and quizzes. HW is long but always doable with notes, the textbook, and google. Quizzes are mostly easy and low-key (i.e. he will help students who are stuck, etc.). Exams are fairly tough but not crazy.

Monk is a great professor. Though he may appear a little scattered sometimes, he really is very knowledgeable about math. I took him honors and its one of few honors classes that I have managed to get an A in. Also, he requires a project on an application of linear algebra for honors, but it isn't too difficult. And make sure you do the homework

Monk is, simply put, the most amazing Math professor at UD. He keeps things simple, but you still learn your stuff. He also doesn't give horribly dumb assignments that are too hard to complete like other Math professors. Oxford alumni are the best!!!!!

Best math professor at UD! Great accent, good sense of humor, clear in his explainations and tests are straightforward. Homework and computer labs are not too overwhelming. Great guy. If you can, take his class!
