Comment:
Professor Mayer's class is a great example of an easy class made difficult. This course is an introductory course and the content is very manageable. However, the lack of effort Mayer puts into his lectures made it very difficult to succeed in his class. I would advise anyone seeking to take Econ 1000 to either wait or seek other options.

Do not take this class. The lectures are painfully boring and he just scribbles stuff on the board that you can't even read. He doesn't post any grades until the end of the semester. You are also only graded on the midterm and final. He claims there is extra credit, but I am pretty sure he didn't actually keep track of it. Do not take him.

Phil Mayer is the worst professor I have taken in my 3 years at Kennesaw. Phil is incoherent and extremely disorganized. He doesn't use D2L so you won't know your grade until the end of the semester. Phil's lectures and the textbook will not help you on the exams. I finished Econ 2100 & Econ 2300 with A's, yet will finish Econ 1000 with a C.

seems like a nice guy but hes just a really bad professor. his lectures were PAINFULLY boring and i'm convinced this man doesn't know how to use his laptop. the only grades we got were for the midterm, final, and a few participation grades but he never put anything in d2l so I still don't even know what I have in the class.

The class is useless. the professor is not the move. We bought a book for which we have no that we never used. Only had a midterm and the final and nothing else! I had 10 pints shy of 850 (a) and he could not bump me. Don't take him unless you have NO better options. I didn't learn (tish) and I almost hate Business because of this class and him!

HE IS HORRIBLE, DO NOT TAKE. PLZ! although his midterm and part of the final is take home and half final in class. they are very hard. those are the only two major grades so you have to basically get As on them. 85 is an A in his class. his class is ridiculous and boring. if hes the last option, STILL DONT TAKE HIM. WAIT FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER

Phil. avoid Phil at all costs. If this is the last econ class open, dont take it. Just wait another semester and do it later because this guys class isnt worth it. Hes incoherent, just scribbles random economics on the board then gives a vague explanation and asks whether we understand. Then he only has two tests the midterm and the final.

worst professor ever avoid him at all cost believe me. OKay first off he does not upload your grade at all so you don't know what your grade is until its late to fix it. second his final and midterm exams are nothing like we talked about in class, they're take home exams and very hard ones btw. And third his class is sooo boring. DON'T TAKE HIM.

By far the worst professor I have ever had. Avoid him if you can! Class is very unorganized, and there is essentially no course content. It is mainly just stuff he wants to talk about that isn't relevant to a 1000 class. I somehow made it out with a B, so yeah. Just don't take him; waste of my time.

Easily the worst college professor I've ever had. There are only two grades the entire semester(the midterm and the final), so best of luck. His lectures are very unstructured, and he'll ramble on until some student asks him a question to put him back on topic. You won't know what your grade in the class will be until the end of the semester.

This professor is the worst one ever. He only gives you two grades; a midterm and final. If he doesn't like you you won't pass. He is always off topic and never is specific on what your are supposed to do. The content is so easy but he words his test awfully and makes it to were any answer could be it. He won't tell us our final grade yet either.

He doesn't know how to teach, but it's an easy and chill class. Attendance is taken on random days and sometimes there are group assignments you have to be there for. The midterm and final are both take home and aren't too bad, especially if you have the book. He doesn't post grades though which makes knowing your grade harder.

i would take him again bc no studying was required, just go to class and take notes for the 2 tests. attendance is taken on random days. if you write down everything and go to every class you'll do good in this class. 2 tests- both are take home. tests are quite hard but with proper notes you will get a B+/A. he dismisses class early pretty often.

if youre interested in economics and want a professor who enjoys talking about it definitely take him. he's funny and i liked his tangents. he always lets you out like 20 minutes early. however, if youre just taking the class for gened and just want to pass maybe get someone else cause he writes the test questions which are often hard to understand

Do NOT take him. The WORST Econ professor I've had. He won't upload your grades so you'll have zero clue of what your grade is. There's only two tests, midterm and final and his questions are made up by him so its harder to understand. So good luck with that.

Mayer is a sweet, caring professor and genuinely wants you to pass. He offers extra credit during class as pop questions. His lectures don't quite cover what you need to know for the exams, so most of the research needs to be done on your own. Attendance is taken at random and counts. There are only two exams. Attendance is taken randomly and not every class. There is a take-home final, take-home midterm, and class activities. He goes off on wild stories and then when he's halfway through you're like "why is he telling this story." His questions are poor and I googled a lot. Got through the class based on past econ classes but easy if you work with other

The worst teacher I have ever had. He does not tell you your grade at all. I finished the class and still dont know ONE grade I made in that class. I couldnt understand anything the professor was saying and he made no sense and would just ramble. The groupme was the only good thing about the class.
