She is very strict and allows attendance to be mandatory. She doesn't grade correctly according to the rubrics. All other teachers for this course are much more respectable and easier graders. This is an 100 level course, it should be an easy A.

Comment:

LIBA is supposed to be an easy and encouraging class, and Polly is one of the ONLY professors that take it seriously (too seriously). She doesn't follow the grading rubrics and marks down your papers for whatever she wants. She's nice, but hard to get a hold of and very unreliable.

Comment:

Polly was an amazing instructor. She always offered outstanding feedback, and is willing to help you with "real world" projects rather than solely caring about in-class projects. She cares about each person, strives to make the work load manageable and interesting, as well as informative. Over all, a great class.

Polly is there for you to ask questions when you need as she does her best to help you succeed. Her work load is reasonable, although it can be a bit confusing figuring out what she wants do and when. She hands out a syllabus at the beginning of the year that does not follow any of the deadlines that she gives out later.

Awesome teacher! I failed this class but not at all because of her! I made some unwise decision but she put so much grace on my to even pass in A. She is awesome if you just simply cooperate with her.

I am not a fan of Polly. I do not feel that she is up to a college professor level. She gets 'their', 'there', and 'they're' mixed up! She did not thouroughly explain assignment expectations, even when asked directly. She was personable but I would not take a class from her again.

I also had Polly come in half way through the year and though our other prof was good, Polly did an amazing job taking over and jump-starting our class. She is interesting and energetic.

She did an amazing job -- she came in to a class that was half-way through the semester, ( our teacher had health problems and couln't finish) and managed to sort-of restart and pull everthing together very well. She was a lot of fun and very helpful if there was any sort of problem or confusion

So, she is a very tough grader I felt, but she also challenges you so much to do better, and because of her, I've done really well on other papers for the past couple of years, thanks to the mad skills she taught! She's super funny too :)

Polly is Great! She is extremely funny and her coffee drinking habits leave her energetic and excited. She is a super-funny person, always making jokes about random things that have nothing to do with what you are learning about at the moment. That is what makes her so cool!

Polly Peterson is the best thing that ever happened to Geoge Fox literature department. She is entergetic, helpful, and makes learning amazingly fun. I recommend that everyone take atleast one class from her PER YEAR. :)
