Comment:
Yikes! What an egregiously horrible professor. Randy's lectures where a ghastly sight as he speaks so softly and the material being covered by him was shoddily executed. He is often in his own world mumbling incoherently. Very detached. An extremely difficult class to take and with Randy it is an impossible feat. Stay clear for your GPA's sake.

everyone rags on him for some odd reason! But in all honesty, I loved his class! he made concepts easier to understand and does a good job at explaining it. I reccomend going to every class and sitting in the front (his voice can be low)

Comment:
He expects students to teach themselves nearly all the material using the Bergmann textbook, which is unclear and dry. Lectures are barely complementary to the course; he literally spends most of class time projecting into the future about what we -will- be learning later in the course or in 220. Somewhat enjoyable as person, but not as a teacher.

I unknowingly signed myself up to this class woefully unaware how difficult it would be. Wow just wow this a very math and logic intensive course and certainty not a course to take unless it's a requirement. Randy was dry, boring and very unappealing prof making it all the worse. Lots of problems done on the board and textbook work was torturous.

He is very hard to hear and he goes off topic frequently. I thought the overall class was boring and maybe that's why I resented it so much, however, I dropped it and retook it with another prof at Macewan. I learned that it was not the topic itself, it was his teaching.

He doesn't speak loudly or clear enough to hear anything. He doesn't have a clear point when he's lecturing. I'm half way through the semester and I still don't know what the important things in this class are. You read from the textbook and he expects you to fully understand from the very beginning. 0/10 would not recommend.

This guy is kind of a gamble. At first, I didn't like him since he talks kind of quiet and goes on tangents, but I learned to warm up to him. He's actually quite funny. It's mostly the course itself that is hard so practice with the textbook! When I needed help, he was there. He does a lot of examples in class and his tests are very fair.

I'm not sure why so many people are having difficulty with this prof. I took this course without knowing anything about logic. The prof made it easy to grasp what it is about. As long as you review notes before going to class, none of the stuff should be difficult at any point. He tells you a lot about things if you are willing to venture further.

He does not speak clearly and is hard to hear at times and he often goes off topic. I would avoid at all costs. Feedback on quizzes is minimal. Most of the marks comes from quizzes (announced only in class) and the final. Unless you are passionate about phil, I would try a different prof.

I found Phil 125 to be an incredibly HARD and CHALLENGING course. Unfortunately Professor Wojtowicz made it worse with his hard to hear mumbling and soft voice. Textbook is a must and doing homework outside of class is mandatory practice is everything for this class. Poorly taught class overall if you have another option for prof or class take it!

He mumbles a lot. Which makes the lectures not only hard to hear but hard to maintain attention. The tests are pretty straight forward if you understand the course material. He has one way of explaining things, and rants about irrelevant things 75% of the time.

Phil is a difficult course and I found Randy's teaching style to be very effective for me. I heard other students having issues with getting good marks but they refused to get help from him. If you're not willing to put in the time and effort, don't take this class.

If there is a chance you can switch profs, I'd say go for it. You can tell he enjoys Philosophy, but he does not have the slightest clue on how to teach it. Literally spent 40 minutes in a 50 minute class discussing things completely irrelevant to what we were learning. Nice guy, mumbles a whole lot though.

If you take a logic class that Randy Wojtowicz teaches, and you attend class and do the work, you will learn the material well and realize it is important material. This was not an easy class, but it was very enriching under Randy's instruction.

A joke. Rants about things totally irrelevant to class in what appears to be a vain effort to make himself look smarter. Knows his material well but strangely refuses to teach his material well. If you must take a class with him, be prepared to sift through the load of irrelevance to get to what you need to learn.

A fantastic teacher that wants his students to do well. Don't be a baby and don't expect the class to be easy. You have to work hard and Randy will help whenever possible and is really accommodating. Would take his class again for sure.

Randy is the worst prof i've had at macewan. He made the class so unbearable i withdrew in fear of my GPA dropping. All he does is read the book to you but he doesn't speak loud enough. to point where if someone is coughing, you can't hear him at all. you can really tell he hates teaching the class too. AVOID HIM IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE PHILOSOPHY.
