Comment:

Dr. Gershon is a fabulous professor! He gives multiple examples of what he lectures on before asking if there are any questions. Dr. Gershon also encourages discussions and wants each individual to feel their opinions and views are valued. While he does require students to read from numerous sources before class, the articles are fairly short.

Comment:

Okay so his class grades are based on 4 exams. In which he created a guide for each and every guide is only good for about a 50% (E) on every exam. He does not have thorough guides. It's almost as if he makes the guides and not the exams but he's a nice guy if that matters after paying for his class..... To fail.

Really liked having this professor. I took COM 3070 with him last summer and actually enjoyed going to his class. Like most reviews say, take your time and get to know this professor, he is really cool. The class itself was not hard, he gives a very specific study guide for the tests. Just make sure you know the material on it and you'll do great.

Comment:

Gershon is very understanding and likes to take time getting to know his students and making sure you are passing his course. This is what all WMU teacher should be and all the other teacher should look up to in terms of his teaching skill, communication, and friendly learning atmosphere.

This is an amazing course done by an amazing teacher. He is well prepared, knows what he is saying, and has the experience to back it up. He is not afraid to ask students questions, even if he doesn't know your name, and it keeps the students involved and on task. I would recommend him any day.

Dr. G cares SO much about his students (sometimes too much) and I really appreciate that. Lectures aren't always the most exciting, but his exams are straight from his course pack and his lectures, so it's in your best interest to pay attention. He also forces participation by calling on students at random during lectures.

I've had Dr. G twice now, and he is the best. His upper level classes are difficult, and the exams are no longer just memorize and spit up on the test. Extremely caring, will reach out to students if he is concerned. 12 page company analysis term paper due, but he gives you tons of feedback and tips. He is a great man who is incredibly smart.

Honestly, i've had prof gershon 3x now- and he's the best. You have to pay attention in class, but its easy because its really interesting material (to most, at least). Come to class prepared to be asked a question, but if you don't know just say "pass". He wants to know that his students learned & holds himself responsible if class doesnt do well.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but I would definitely encourage being at every lecture, as what he lectures about +notes is what is on the exams. You can probably get by without the coursepack but it is a lot easier to study with it. He is an extremely interesting lecturer, but if you don't test well beware, your grade is composed of 4 exams.

Prof Gershon runs a very well organized and informative class. He tackles hard to talk about subjects, keeps the class material relevant and while the tests are challenging, he sets you up for success. If you take the time to read the material, pay attention in class, and use his course notes, you will do well and gain a lot of real world knowledge

Amazing professor with very interesting topics discussed in class. There were constantly great discussions going on and he is full of knowledge in a variety of areas. Exams were not easy, but not too hard either. Study, pay attention, and participate.

I learned a lot in this class. I was interested most of the time & the class had some pretty good discussions about a lot of controversial topics. There was 4 exams and the class and those are the only grades. Therefore, you need to go to class and understand what he is talking about to truly understand. Buying his course pack made the course easy

Gershon is a preferred professor of many at WMU. His lower level classes are clear-cut and focused with testing over exactly what is talked about in class. His higher level courses are challenging but very rewarding. The tests are short answer, essay, and are tough. You will need to study, but the end result is that you actually comprehend the info

One of the best professors I have had in my entire college career! He is truly passionate about teaching and is an enthusiastic and clear lecturer who makes a serious effort to learn everyone's name in lecture! If you listen (which isn't hard) and occasionally participate you will do fine. Don't miss the opportunity to learn from him!

GREAT guy! I went into this class thinking I would hate it and almost dropped it after the second class. Now looking back this turned out to be the best class I took. Gershon loved what he was doing and that made me love it too. He looks like an older Matthew Mcconaughey. TAKE this class!! Reminder: you can say "pass" when he calls on you!!

Lectures consist of power point slides with videos and discussion. It's a good class, just important to make all the classes in order to do well on the exam because he includes questions from the videos and discussion. He prints his slides and uses those as a text book. I believe the grading scale was consistent of only tests

Had him for COM 2400 and It was pretty easy. Tests are clear and multiple choice. Study guide reflects exam. Very helpful. Four exams and attendance extra credit points (4)

It was really basic and easy. HE DOES NOT USE THE BOOK EVEN THOUGH HE TELLS YOU HE DOES ON THE FIRST DAY. All you need is the course outline which he makes you buy from the bookstore for about $15. 4 easy exams and attendance extra credit.
