Comment:

Dr. Flaton is super smart and always has interesting things to say. Her class is difficult, especially graded assignments, but tests are fair. She loves you if you do well and participate, but can be super nasty especially if you are late, rude, or ask too many questions. Reading the textbook is SUPER important and so is attendance.

MUST-READ THE TEXTBOOK. Professor Flaton was one of my favorite teachers this semester. Her class is interesting but you must participate. If you look over material tests are easy and all multiple choice. Her papers are long but they are straight summary so its not that difficult. A very nice person just talk to her if you need extra help.

Dr. Flaton is relatively knowledgeable in her field and gives interesting lectures. However, if you are to do bad on any assignment in this class and try to seek out help from her, she will flip out at you. I was extremely scared to turn in my papers this semester, as I was afraid I would get yelled out for doing something wrong. I do NOT recommend

Dr. Flaton is a sweet person. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. If you really need to, she'll extend paper due dates as well. Reading the textbook in her class is a must since she expects you to participate in discussions during class. There were 3 papers due during the semester.

Do not take this class if you are not a crim or poli sci major. It's a waste of time and effort. She assumes everyone in the class is a crim major so she would assume I would know everything she was talking about. Skip one class and she takes 5 points off your attendance grade. So many papers and you have to read the textbook or you wont pass.

Really enjoy her, but I have heard this is one of her 'easier' classes and she's tougher in others. You HAVE to read the textbook. She knows when you don't & will call you out on it. Make sure to read and participate. Outside of class, has been really helpful with major/internship/career questions and has been genuinely caring.

Dr. Flaton's class was interesting and I definitely learned a lot about psychology and the legal system. The class is structured around the textbook, so you absolutely have to read it or you won't make it. Grading is a little unclear, and the only two tests were the midterm and the final. Neither test was too bad if you read. A's take some work.

Dr. Flaton is the best! She has so much experience in psych and law that make her lectures that much better. She's a tough grader- grades papers like an english professor. GO TO CLASS- takes off points each time you miss. Read the textbook before class-lectures are based on it. Amazing professor and woman- you'll learn so much! Would recommend!

Really interesting class and lectures with student engagement but assignments are unclear in grading. If you do exactly what the assignment says she'll still give you a low grade just because other people wrote more pgs than you did, even if the assignment didn't specify pg #. Very unfair. Only 2 tests: midterm and final. Very hard. Study a lot.

I took her for Mental Illness and Crime Behavior. I thought she was a really good teacher. Very engaging and thoroughly enjoyable class. She makes you do weekly papers but they're manageable. She'll help you with anything you need. I learned a lot, and highly recommend you take her.

Mixed feelings. It was n interesting class if you're into crim, and she really knows her stuff. she could be pretty nice but got crazy over weird things like attendance (-5 pts each day you're absent) and eating in class- high school-esque rules. also we had weekly papers and it was hard to understand what she exactly wanted.

At first she seemed to be really nice, but then you saw the real her. She seemed very judgmental towards what some people said in class, you can see it the look in her face. Some days shes mean others shes great. Most of the time she was nice. I did enjoy her class, and I would take her again.

Shes an interesting woman. She gives work every week in our textbook and gives us a few tests. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt to her class because shes always hot. She needs the air conditioner on 24-7 even in the winter when its freezing. The class is very interesting.

This women is the WORST teacher I've ever experience ever. She belittles her coworker in the middle of class. And openly criticizes her students to other students and in class. NEVER take her, SHE WILL BE THE DEATH OF YOU.
