Comment:

The horror stories I heard about her proved to be false. I took pre-cal in high school, but didn't take college algebra and I did just fine. Attendance, writing notes, and doing your homework is mandatory. She mumbles, but if you follow the board, you'll be fine. She's willing to help and gives 5 tests and 6 quizzes where can use your notes on.

Comment:

I have always been real good at math... that is until I took her class. The content doesn't seem that hard, but she doesn't teach. She does problems on the board, we just write straight from the board her work then we get tested over it. I end up having to get tutored over the subject because I can't get taught it in class.

Comment:

Unapproachable outside of class, and in class for that manner. She'll talk down to you for most of the questions you ask even though the answer may not be clear. Just write everything on she writes in the board and take it to the tutoring center. They'll help you get it straight.

Comment:

Business Cal is a hard class to take. A lot of people have to retake it. But Mrs. Gore is a decent teacher at the subject and she's the best chance you have at passing the first time. She is unclear sometimes, but is willing to help. Just show up and ask questions and you'll do fine. But the test are very hard and are only 50 points. Good luck.

Does not teach . Her favorite phrase is " Im here to Instruct " .. yeah , that does not go very far. Her example sheets are just words .. not very helpful for a math class. She also goes through material extremely fast and never intends on slowing down . Basically , stray far away from ANY of her math classes .

Will not give office hours. Rarely cares about students. Won't answer questions. Used the phrase "I am an instructor not a teacher". I advise not to take her. She is rude, sarcastic, and refuses to be of any assistance out of class.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. She never explained anything thoroughly, complained about her other classes (I wonder what she said about us), got off track every five minutes, and wasn't worth my time.

So boring. Like, it was horrible. I went to class maybe twice every three weeks. The content was super easy, and it was easier to just learn it for myself through the book than to sit through her talking for an hour and a half. Easy class. She knew how to do all of the material. She was just soooo unbearable to listen to. Easy A.

I was hesitant of taking this class, but she is an awesome teacher. No surprise quizzes, but no extra bonus points either. Her quiztest dates are set on the syllabus. You should solve the homework sheet she gives out, because test questions are from there. Another thing is: Mandatory attendance. You can skip, but you probably won't understand.

I was afraid to take her reading some of these comments but she must of changed her teaching style to say the least. She was amazing although confusing at times. Made a hard class as simple as possible

I took Ms. Gore for Survey of Calculus fall 2013. I am not great at math. I worked hard and studied all the time and made an A. I went to her a lot for help. She can get forgetful at times, but tries to help students and recognizes the ones that attend class and ask for help. She is a nice lady and nice outside of the classroom. Give her a shot!

If you do the homework and ask questions she is very helpful. She appreciates students that try hard and is very receptive when you have trouble. She does get a little confusing when working problems on the board but she never minded correcting them.

She is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had! She NEVER explains anything, and if you ask her a simple question to explain something like what her crappy writing says on the board she just mumbles and ignores you or tries to make you feel dumb. Worst class of my life I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy.

Ms. Gore is not a good teacher at all. She is the least helpful teacher I have ever seen. She just stands at the board mumbling to herself about the problems and goes on because she thinks College Algebra is a "review course anyway." Unless your someone who wouldn't need help understanding the subject, I would NOT recommend her.

What a horrible excuse for a teacher. She gives to instruction on HOW to work a problem or WHY a function works as it does, but just works aimlessly on the board muttering to herself quietly. If you have a question, she acts condescending. And today I heard her whisper to her favorite student how to cheat on an upcoming test. Wow.

She does move fast but if you take notes you should be fine. Took her for Business Calculus and did great on all test. Just wait to do homework. Gives you problems to work before tests and asks you if you had questions or wanted to work another problem. Very scattered brained but good teacher. id take her again.
