Extremely boring power point lectures every single class. Tests are very difficult, the study guides that are online do not really help with the tests. Would not take again, for any class.

I do not recommend her at all. She did not help me when i needed the help. I finished with a 69 and she would not give me the extra point. Tests are impossible to pass

Tests are hard; I failed every exam I had. I feel like she is the type of teacher who only makes it hard in order for you to better yourself and really understand what's going on.

Comment:

Dr. Schiller is a great teacher that really cares about the students. She is a very hard teacher and has high expectations. Her tests are your only grade in lecture and are a mix of multiple choice, essay, short answer, matching and fill in the blank. Overall you will learn a lot if you take her but you will have to work for your grade.

Comment:

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH BIOLOGY! I would recommend this class only to people who are great with biology and learn quick and easy. The class consists 75% of test and 25% of lab reports. There is no other homework or extra credit. Dr. Schiller is a lovely lady and teaches well but her tests are HARD to pass.

Comment:

She is really passionate about what she does. She is really into class involvement and takes the time to learn her students names. She will answer your questions and always seems happy to do so. You will need to study for her tests, but she usually puts out study guides. its a tough course and I wouldn't trust a n instructor who made biology easy.

Took this class in summer school, worst mistake ever. We studied 3 chapters a week each test was at least 60 trick questions what I mean is that they aren't worded straight forward and unless you are a genius they are nearly impossible to pass. the final covered 5 chapters. She is accessible outside of class but its a waste of time.

Comment:

Dr. Schiller was a great professor. I learned so much in her class and she really prepared me for the upper division courses. It is possible to get an A or B in her class, but you are going to have to work for it. Her tests are very difficult. However, she is a super nice lady and her class will push you to be a better student.

If you take good notes, go to class, and actually study, you can make an A in her class. The tests are pretty hard but she always curves them by a few points. She is a very nice lady and will help you out if you just ask questions.

If you want to learn your stuff this is the professor to take for Cell and Molec. She is very passionate about you learning and grasping concepts. Is she tough? yes. If you're going into cellular biology after undergrad you will be very prepared!

Dr. Schiller is awesome IMO. She is very helpful if you ask for it. I missed my midterm and she let me come in afterwards to take it. I would recommend Dr. Schiller if you are good at taking tests as that's where your grade comes from.

open to help student, uses the book both lecture n the lab manual, lecture is based on her power point slides, 3 exams(100pts ea), a final(200pts).Lab n lecture are combine grades (same grade for both), every lab day there is a quiz at the beginning, long lab reports but clear grading rubric if you follow it as it is you'r fine

Very Nice woman and clear in her lectures. Tests are insanely hard sometimes containing information that was neither on the study guide or the powerpoints in lecture usually have some kind of curve at least though. but if you take her READ THE BOOK before tests. Labs are very enjoyable and i learned a lot from her.

She's a great person, and very helpful. However, she only grades by tests and they count for 70% of the overall grade. These tests are taken from the power points, but are worded very vaguely and can be tough. Proceed with caution.

Dr. Schiller is a very tough teacher. Her tests are unnecesarily hard. You will have to study for at least a week in advance. Do not take her unless you have to. She will help you with whatever you need, but as previously stated, her tests will tear you apart.

Dr.Schiller is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Before I took the class I heard that she was a tough professor. I feel that the score you receive is an accurate assessment of what you have learned. She even provided study guides for the test. There were never any "surprise" questions. You will need to study everyday to be successful.

I loved her!! She is an amazing teacher, and I really enjoyed her class. She is extremely helpful if you have a question. Her tests are hard, but it's a senior level class so you should know how to study by that point. I received an A on every test, and she curves them. Her study guide for the final isn't helpful. Study everything for it!!

Personally i will not advise if you honor your GPA. i think she sets her standards too high for a general biology class. Things on the study guide were completely different than the test that were given. Her lecture class only consists of test so if you fail all four ..you fail the class. I do not recommend her at all.!!!
