Don't understand all the negative reviews about him. Maybe it's because I'm great at geography, so the class was easy and interesting for me. But, I thought he was nice, funny, and very knowledgeable. I just didn't like Omnivore's Dilema. If I wanted to learn about food, I'd take a food class. Don't spend $100 on the textbook. You don't need it.

He is very condescending to his students and not approachable. The class is difficult but I was more put off by the way he treated people.

This professor is very knowledgeable the subject. He has a sense of humor and loves to talk about food. He requires a map quiz every week based on a map that you fill out which is never checked for correctness before the test. He does not inform you about homework in class. Syllabus dates can be wrong & assignments have little in class direction.

I liked him. I thought he was cool, nice, and really passionate, and knew what he was talking about. And he has a sense of humor. He says to buy a text book, but it's not neccessary, because the power points are word for word. I really enjoyed his class. Only con was, he takes too long to grade papers, and you have to be really accurate on the maps

Make sure you read the syllabus word for word. Tests are only 40 percent of the class and everything else weighs more even the little map quizzes. I got a B on the midterm and final and still got a B in the class. I do not recommend him his teaching and grading styles are horrible.

This teacher is very strick and treats the students like we are in middle school. I believe that he forgets that we are paying him to be in his class. We are all adults so he should treat us like we are.

He has little tolerance for laziness. Good attendance is a must. He will work with you if he sees that you are making an effort in the class. Communication is a must, especially if you miss class; and if you do if needs to be for a good reason. Test are hard so study alot. Check his website, everything is on there.Helps to know some basic geography

Do not take this class!!!! The map quizs are easy as long as you study, and do the homwork. But he gives a "study guide" for the test but you do it and when the test comes it's totally different. It's like you find point A but instead he wants point Z. Even though he says all the information you need is in the powerpoints.Needle in a haystack!!!!!!

He's a tad strict. Not very approachable. I'm interested in the subject matter but it's not the easiest class for me this semester. He expects you to find information related to assignments on your own.

Its not what I expected, no book to referrence, some powerpoint online lots of notes, boring @ times, map quizes r easy its the tests that are very hard. Study guide or lack of, vague. HW- difficult most answers I had to google. Scott is very passionate n knowledgable but class isnt easy. My saving grace was poster project, guidelines also vague.

This class is very hard if you don't already have a strong background in geography. I am a 4.0 student and I have no problem with going to class and studying but I found that even with hours of studying I mostly had to guess my way through the tests. Homework, Quizzes and projects are reasonable but tests are not. Not a class for beginners.

Very nice teacher. The weekly quizzes are fun and really boost up your grade if you do them all. To pass this class just do all the assignments, really work hard on your semester project and study the lectures like crazy for the tests. Hard work will not go unnoticed in this class. If u dont know about a topic hes talking about google it! It works!

I took CA Geog from him, he is very monatone which can be boring but he is very intelligent and has great passion for the material. His weekly map quizes are really easy but they do help you learn the material. His midterms are really easy, as long as you attend class, take notes and study, be a diligent student then you'll be just fine.

Lecture= Extremely boring. Tests= Rediculous amounts of useless information is needed to know for these.Professor=Horrible, ALWAYS gets side-tracked and talks about a personal experience that frankly no one cares about. He's a nice guy but that doesn't make a good teacher, nor decent to say the least. If you wanna torture yourself take this class.

2 words: super boring! The weekly map quizzes were easy as long as you looked over practice maps, but the mid terms were horrible. They were all off his lecture notes that he never stayed on track. Don't take him unless you have to!

He was really hard. He would ramble on about going wine tasting and not about the topic.. Then quiz you on the topic. His test make NO SENSE. Nothing we talked about was on there! He also wasn't helpful when you asked questions. He acted like you were stupid. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! There are better Ca Geog teachers!!

This guy is never willing to stand up for his students. All he talks about is his trips to Hawaii and drinking fine wine. I can hear it now, fine wine, fine wine, fine wine.....ugh
