HE HAS A VERY SOFT VOICE! You should try to get a seat within the first three rows. He gives a lot of quizzes and tests but he goes over the homework and answers ANY questions you have before the tests and quizzes. Once you get them back he goes through every question and solution thoroughly to make sure you understand. He doesn't anyone to fail!

He assigns strange and difficult to meet times for assignments to be due. He writes down questions from the book and you do them the entire time and the explanations he gives for things are basically "we do it like this because that's how math works" and doesn't actually explain anything. If you value your GPA don't take his class.

Stringfellow is an okay professor. He's very soft spoken and hard to hear sometimes. He grades his quizzes pretty tough. You need to do it perfectly to get full credit. He does his best. He also rushes through lessons and doesn't go over homework sometimes. The course material is hard so you need to learn a lot on your own.

Very soft spoken and hard to hear. Goes over topics very quickly without doing much practice before assigning hard homework problems that go against your grade. Sends out homework assignments last minute. Also spends 30 minutes to an hour to look at homework on days of the tests, making it feel rushed to complete the tests in a short amount of time

Stringfellow is a really nice guy, but he is way too critical of your work. Takes points off of your solutions for anything and everything. Tests are hard and he gives way too many quizzes.

Stringfellow is a really nice man. However, he talks way too quietly and makes the information very confusing that it is hard to follow along and do well in the course. I would not recommend taking this professor at all.

He will take off extra points if he doesn't like the way you solved a problem no matter if the answer was right or wrong. So even if your final answer was wrong, you get points taken off for the steps to get that. Which lowers your grade even more. He is an extremely tough grader.

Avoid unless you are a math wiz. Friendly and good-hearted but taught college alg. in an overly-advanced way.

Lectures are confusing. Had to compare notes with other 1021 classes and they were so different. Turns simple equations into paragraphs of how they should be calculated. Totally avoid. Doesnt provide enough examples and picks the hardest questions for homework/quizzes. Failed and have to retake.

I think he is a really nice Professor and he explains things clearly, but my only issue is during his lectures he jumps around a lot and confuses you. I had to basically teach myself the material. Also he is a real stickler when it comes to detail on a quiz or a test. Overall he's okay.

I had Dr. Stringfellow for a summer Calculus course, and I would not recommend him. Although I got a B+, I had to supplement his notes with another teacher's and other things I just learned from the book as he did not provide enough examples. He's organized and very kind, but I would not take him again for a higher level math course.

I had Professor Stringfellow for Pre-Calc spring '10. Awesome guy. very helpful, easy, and clear. FAIR GRADER!!! also, he provides extra office hours, and gives his own reviews, in addition to msrc. if he teaches calc 1 or 2 i'll take him again. he might just be the best math teacher ive had so far. my bar is high.

I agree with what the last person said on here, he's a great, nice prof. but he JUMPS EVERYWHERE! Its very hard to follow him during lecture if you don't throughly understand the material prior to class. I basically had to teach myself. He's very open and helpful when you ask questions, but there is a disconnect between his understanding & yours

I'm currently failing his Pre-Calc class along with many other struggling people in my class. While he is extremely nice, so I feel terrible saying this, his classes are almost impossible to follow. Kinda like he just jumps around from idea to idea all over the board. Not much structure to his class. I'm sorry Stringfellow, you are really nice.

Calc II req'd? Then this professor is required. Calc II is a very difficult subject, but this professor really does everything he can to help. His handouts are helpful (esp. the series test summary) and he wants to see his students do well. Cons of this class are from the Mathematics department. REALLY rushed at the end. I'd take him again!

I had Stringfellow for Math 73 and 74, and this guy is a fantastic teacher. He both knows the material and is able to teach. He is straight forward, very helpful when you go to his office, and you will be fine as long as you do the homework. He's one of the best and most honest teachers I've had here at Temple.
