Do NOT take this class. Guaranteed frustration. He is incredibly unorganized, horrible teacher, and yells and rants about useless information. He gives you assignments then does a few examples for you then just let's you figure it out on your own. He was very good for 111 but just went down hill in a matter of ONE semester.

Mr. Fernandez is horribly unprofessional. Gives assignments over a month after they're due, and occasionally doesn't show up for class. He rants, and shouts at the students during class. (Don't get this professor!)

I saw everyone's reviews saying that he never posts grades, and I thought "it can't be that bad". it was. I had only recieved my 1st grade till this past week! (finals week!)he finally gave all my grades at the end of the danged semester! luckily I got an A. But it was a complete gamble because I had no idea what to improve on. had zero feedback

I took his English 111 online class last spring. It took 2 months just to get grades back from the assignments. Numerous spelling errors in the intructions. An English teacher that never heard of spell check?? It was not a hard class but take another professor if one is available.

I took his online class and was amazed by how many spelling and grammar mistakes he had in his directions for each assignment. His directions for the assignments were not clear at all.

I took Steve's classes in '91-92. Steve is eccentric and inflexible. I went as far as complaining to his boss; I was one of many. That being said, he's a great teacher. He broke things down in such a way that only an idiot could fail. After his class I always excelled in writing and always wrecked the curve on essay tests.

i had him for one day allready. my teacher i signed up for droped the class and i had to get him. I agree with the sexyal comments. i thought it was just a one day thing. guess not. but try not to take him. i almost fell asleep; but try not to take him. he said playing with a pen i could have sexual fustration. it drove me nuts.

He is absolutly hilarious.Attendance doesnt count and nothing really has due dates. He grades very easy because im not the best writer and I did good in his class! In my class he wrote some of the paper for us. Also he does get mad easily but he likes when people are nice to him like say hello and how are you doing, I also took him for Eng 111.

This class is an easy A if you have a high threshold for torturous lectures.He asks for your opinion then proceeds to tell you why your interpretation is WRONG. Whatever happened to literature being subjective?? Anyway, if you can sit there for 2 agonizing hours and keep your mouth shut, you just might survive.... albeit psychologically damaged.

I think this has been the best and most fun class I have taken at TCC. Its a pretty easy class. He has been at TCC in Va beach since they opened. He teaches you the basics and wants you to pass, but he also wants you to understand. Dont be an idiot in the clas and he will help you. I will be taking his 112 class!

I keep reading about this easy "A" and how if you did not like this teacher you must be an idiot. If you are only taking this class to satisfy your Eng. requirement that is fine. If you are someone who is interested in actually learning the ENTIRE course...like english majors who need to know all info. related to the course...may I reccomend Tarr.

He was the best teacher i've had at tcc. I've taken him for eng 111, 112 & 241 and i aced all three. As long as you show up, you'll get a good grade. I think he's funny (very sarcastic). Also lets class out early and is EXTREMELY helpful with papers & tests are easy.
