He really thinks he is an English professor when he grades your papers. He gives very long and boring presentations every class and is not very entertaining. If I had to take this class again with Steve I would probably transfer to a university outside of the country just in case his curriculum ever rubbed off on anyone in the continental US.

This was a very hard class. Zwickel is a pretty fair and honest teacher who tell you what is on his mind. The class assignments are pretty straightforward in his textbook and there are only 7 projects including 2 speeches. If you put in the work there is no way you can't get at least a B. You are given the option to redo some assignments also.

Comment:

Class starts out by making you read a bunch of passages out of a book he wrote. Then the memos and presentations start and it's kind of a blur until the end of the semester; it picks up really quickly. Make sure not to fall behind. Starts out as a tough grader in the beginning and gets nicer later on. Put in a lot of effort, and you'll do well.

Very good teacher and knows what he's talking about. His classes are a lot of work though, so be ready to work. Grading criteria is clear well organized.

Comment:

A 2 credit class that should be worth 3. The guy tries to be a comedy but he's not funny, he just likes to hear himself talk.EPD 275 helps considerably with presenting skills so take it, just not with this guy. More writing than actual presenting because you do "memos" commenting on readings from the textbook he wrote and on what you learned, etc

I was absolutely dreading taking this class, but it turned out not to be that bad. He's extremely knowledgeable and I really feel that I learned a lot. We gave 4 presentations and there was a noticeable improvement in everyone's quality. Make sure you do his side-assignments though; I forgot about a few and ended up with a not-so good grade.

Comment:

Good guy. Can have some weird stories and jokes at times but they are interesting. You'll get a lot out of this class and it's not that hard to get an AB. A's are kind of tough. All work is real life applicable and this class will really help. I highly recommend Zwickel. He's a nice guy who is understanding and you will learn a lot.

Useful class. Sometimes says funny things, but more often not. Don't take him if you don't want your feelings hurt, can be a little sarcastic and blunt, but overall very helpful towards presentations.

He lectures heavily on the dangers of using humor in presentation and then breaks those rules while talking to the class. He will never be a comedian, but he says funny things once in a while. Class isn't too bad, presentations are straightfoward.

Professor Zwickel is a good teacher with a strict grading policy. However, it's clear he spends plenty of time reviewing and analyzing his work. He can seem somewhat sarcastic, but take the time to talk problems over with him during office hours. Overall, I'd recommend him, if you put in the time.

zwickel is a pretty good teacher, hes a good speaker and is very knowledgable. sometimes he comes off as kind of a prick bc he kinda pokes fun at u and is kind of sarcastic, but thats just his style dont take offense.. you really do have to put in some effort if you want a good grade, but u wont regret it cause u do learn a thing or 2.. go to class

I like Zwickel he is a good guy, and we always joke with him in class. He lectures are kinda borning but no tests notes do not need to be taken, and he is easy to listen to and class goes by fast.
