Chem 240 is quite heavy, so studying outside of class is mandatory to pass. Hes a very nice and inspiration professor, really wants his students to do well. He does his part well, so if you do yours as a good student youll do well. Very organised with the syllabus so its accessible to revise on your own.

Good professor. He really wants everyone to pass and does all he can to make it easier for us. Doing the hw and lab assignments on time really has a huge impact on your grade. His reviews for exams are extremely helpful and he is willing to help with anything you don't understand

Great professor! He really enjoys what he is teaching, and his passion for chemistry is infectious. Chem was not my strongest subject in high school, but prof Kopec does a fantastic job teaching and explaining. I really started liking chemistry after taking his class. Just go to class, read the textbook, do the homework, and put in your own effort.

Gives out a "schedule" for homework and materials that are due and does not follow it by the first day. Asks you to print his powerpoints, but they are made with detailed color backgrounds and white text, making them difficult to print. Grumpy, talks a lot about things that are not important, and is a difficult grader. Is not clear about material.

His tests are structured for you to make simple mistakes. When he says for the first test to concentrate on significant figures. YES do that but also pay attention to TRAILING zeros. The whole first test is about sig figs and trailing zeros. Trailing zeros count as sig dig. If you don't know that you WILL lose 25 points on the first test

Really have to work in this class. He tells you up front that it will be a tough class and to make it a priority or you won't do well. Quiz questions can come from anywhere in the chapter. Test questions are directly off of his reviews and they are still tough! He really helped me with a scheduling issue around finals though. Would take again.

Really a tough grader. Be careful with Sig. figs. Lectures are boring and won't let you leave early. Not an easy A, you'll have to work for it. If you're not really interested in chemistry do not take him.

Painfully boring. All homework is graded. Make sure homework is 200% complete because he loves taking points off minimal mistakes. Quizzes every week, but are worth chump change in the grading aspect. Tests are insane, hope you read the book!

Tough teacher, doesn't like to slow down and gets sarcastic and moody when students start asking too many questions. The information he teaches is relatively clear, considering he copies it from the text book to a powerpoint. Tests are tough with zero review. Quizzes every class, only thing that helps your grade. Way too much homework, all graded

Very helpful! He prepares you for the test so there are no surprises and is very clear in what he wants you to learn.(5 tests) drops the lowest grade. Has a lot of hw. If you study the hw problems and show up to class then his class will be a piece of cake! I would definitely recommend him especially if chemistry is a hard subject for you.

Pros -His tests (3) are in the middle of easy and hard. If you study, you are bound to do well. Cons -Grades the homework. He should go over the homework instead of grading it. :/ -The textbook questions are quite challenging, so you'll need to go look online or try to get a subscription from Chegg for the solutions. With that you can get an A or B

Excellent professor! Knows his Chemistry, easy to understand. Will make you want to learn this tedious subject. I enjoyed his lectures. The only down side is that he's a hard grader. He takes points off for every little thing, so you better study and do your work. He's definitely one of my favorite professors at Bergen!

Loved Prof. Kopec!! He explains everything very clearly and brings the sometimes difficult material to an easier level. He will take the time to work with students if needed after class. Very approachable for help, and understanding. I pray for all of my prof's to be like him. I will miss him... and his occasional bad jokes.
