Great professor. Nice guy and likes to make the class laugh. Lectures are always interesting as he incorporates real-world examples from his career as a state trooper. Great professor. He knows what he is talking about. He goes over everything thats going to be on the tests in his lectures so as long as you go to class, you'll pass. 1 paper and a midterm and final. He also gives extra credit.

Prof. Walsh knows his stuff concerning CJ. By no means is this class an easy a though. Midterm, final, research paper. Study up for both the midterm and final because they're worth 80 percent of your final grade. Review day is very helpful. Many opportunities for extra credit, in fact points added to your final grade!! Take if you want to learn

Professor Walsh is the man, I've had him 3 times and would take him again had there been another class avaliable. He keeps you in tune the entire class time and you really do learn a lot from him as oppose to some other teachers. Always incorporates real life scenarios which are extremely helpful. Go to class, study and you'll do well.

Two exams, one paper, and 2 extra credit assignments. He's really passionate about what he teaches. He seems intimidating but hes actually a nice guy. Pay attention during the review he reads like right off the exam!!! Take him.

PROFESSOR WALSH IS VERY INTERESTED IN THE SUBJECT HE TEACHES. GIVES NO HW BUT MIDTERM AND FINAL WITH RESEARCH PAPER. YOU WILL DEF. LEARN A LOT ABOUT CRIMINOLOGY IN THIS CLASS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Professor Walsh is a great teacher. He is passionate about the subject, and has a lot of knowledge about the material. Does not give homework, he takes attendance, gives a midterm and final (in which he gives a review the week before with everything that is on it) and one research paper. Definitely take him. Do not be intimidated by him.

He comes off very intimidating in the beginning, but as the weeks progress you'll see he's such a softy. But he will call on you if he sees you're not paying attention. And he hates it when people are on their phone during class. But come on this class is SO easy! And he is NOT boring! TAKE HIM.

he teaches the best class in the justice department. he is completely down to earth, realistic professor. he keeps you interested and classes are fun. take him for police and society. he gives you reviews with everything for his exams. study for them because he words them trick and makes you think. over all best class and professor i ever took

Professor Walsh is the man! He makes his class interesting and will keep you away the entire time. Def willing to help you and does nothing but help everybody pass the class, of course you do your part! I am not a Criminal Justice Major but his class was extremely interesting! Take him!

If you dont wanna be a cop, you might feel isolated in his class. He values education but at the same type is very down to earth with his thinking, which comes to be expected from a statey. Likes to stress what the "real world" is like, and how most professors in academia don't live in the real world. OK professor, def an acquired taste though.

I missed the first class so when I met him the second class I knew nothing about him except that he looked very intimidating. However, once you get to know him he is a great prof. And he works with you and if you need to talk to him he is ready and willing. I would take him again if I could. Midterm, final and a lot of extra credit. Take him!!

Professor Walsh was one of the best professors.He is not what the person below me said!He is clear and knows his stuff!If you actually do the work and study you will pass!People seem to not understand that working hard is a part of life.Don't study, and don't work hard and you fail, in school and in life!Don't blame him for your laziness.HOT TOO!!!

Very good Instructor! Keeps the class interesting. For all of those people who think he's a "bully" or too "outspoken" you forget he has been in law enforcement for over 20 years. It is a requirement to be authoritative and loud. All you hypersensitive people beware... everyone else, TAKE HIM!

This man is self-centered and egoistical. Do not question him because he will destroy your credibility the remainder of your education career at MSU. By far the worst professor ever. I personally REGRET taking him.
