Dr. Bair is definitely not as bad as some of the reviews mention. He posts clear and simple videos on Youtube that you can use to take notes. He gives you an option to still get participation points if you miss lectures, by posting in the discussion board. Not a ton of homework, 9 Quizzes, 1 MIdterm, and 1 Final. I wish I took him for Econ 8!

Comment:

Professor Bair did a fairly good job teaching online. He gives lectures via YouTube, reading assignments (which the books were free) and discussion sessions through Zoom. His quizzes allow you to take them 3 times, and you keep the highest score. Overall, I'd take him again. Plus his beard is amazing!

spring 2020 during COVID-19 Do not take his class the things he lectures does not prepare you for the exams. NO final exam study guide midterm is 400pts final is 600pts rest assignments and quizzes all together worth like 700 pts if you fail the midterm or the final you fail the class the grade scale is terrible doesn't respond to email

WORST PROF EVER! Do not take this prof. He does not respond to emails, even ones regarding midterm and final. Worst communication, if he does respond his responses are very unclear and leave you even more confused. Multiple choice quizzes on canvas are barely accessible and the options given are all wrong majority of the time. Take a different prof

Professor Bair isn't a bad professor like everyone below is saying he is! The only things are that he solely takes notes on the board and is usually like 5 minutes late to class (which isn't a big deal because he gets through all the material anyways). Also, the midterm and final are easy if you make a study guide and make sure you do the homework

Expect to pay attention and take a lot of notes. There will also be online and in class assignments. Lectures were interesting, diverse and easy to follow. Test questions will be on lectures. There was extra credit given at the end of the term.

Where do start? His class was confusing... he lectures on the board so all his notes are scrambled. Econ is already hard itself and he makes it more confusing. I don't recommend him at all. BTW, his tests are complicated!

I had the same experiences with the two reviews below me. He doesn't start class on time, more like 20 minutes later. Lot's of lecture and notes. The way the class is structured isn't fair. If you do well on the homework but do bad on the midterm, you have to ace the final or drop the class. Overall, his grading scale is terrible. Take it elsewhere

Terrible professor. If you fail the midterm you have to ace the final to pass, even with the homework and participation points. He is also virtually inaccessible outside of class. he starts class late and hes the first one out the door when class is over? And Email? He doesn't have one but still docks points for not reaching out when you need help

Professor Bair is a tough grader. In addition, his quizzes and homework are all done online, and if you mess up it cannot be fixed. In the end, there are extra credit essays, but they do not help your grade. In his quizzes, he tries to trick you and it is up to you to know what the material covers. I tried, but failed. Wouldn't recommend him.

All of the homework and quizzes were online and as long as you have your notes there shouldn't be a problem. Just go to the lectures and take notes, he checks your notes at the end of the semester, so if you do well on the online homework and quizzes the class should be easy. Also DO ALL OF THE EC it will boost your grade so much.

Doctor Bair is hot! Lol I took his Econ 7 & 8. Homework is online. You need to come to class cause he checks your notes at the end of semester. It counts towards your grade. There is an essay for extra credit. Do not use your phone during his lecture cause he will call you out!

Great and in depth look at microeconomics. He makes you work for your grade. I took the 6-week winter class and easily got an A. If you read and do all of the homework and quizzes, you will do great.

Understanding and compassionate professor. I struggled with economics before, but after I took both of Dr. Bair's classes over winter session, I feel like an economics expert. His lectures are very interesting. He explains things so great. After taking his classes, I decided this is my major, and I can't emphasize enough how great this guy is.

Dr. Bair is an extraordinary professor who also has worked extensively in non-profit endeavors as well as being the author of several books. He is truly knowledgeable in the field of economics; his fundamentals are so great that he can give entire lectures off the top of his head. His lectures are amazing, the HW can take a few hrs but isnt bad, but the quizes can be a little difficult so make sure to study for those and take time. Has optional EC which can help a lot. The final was similar to the quizes. But all multiple choice. Makes a dry subject like econ very interesting. Material taught is diff from HW but not bad.

Lectures were awesome but felt like course outline didn't follow instruction. Quiz contents were always up in the air. Take plenty of notes and listen. Grade was up in the air most of the semester. Also so many graphs.

Economics tends to be a rather droll subject for many, but Professor Bair does his best to relay the info as interesting. We did not have any form of test in class until the final (multiple choice). Quizzes are given periodically online, but if you've read thoroughly they aren't awful. Quite a bit of work, but necessary. Very funny, handsome dude.
