Comment:

The most monotone professor I've ever had. Impossible to pay attention to. The class is also entirely memorizing taxonomic names. Wouldn't recommend.

Comment:

I had Bruce for Bio 111 lab and I didn't find him helpful at all. Especially when it came to the biggest lab assignment of the year (transpiration paper), he gave us no direction. If you want to know what to do, you have to seek him out. My TA was really helpful, however. I felt that compared to my friends lab profs, I wasn't learning the material.

Comment:

If you aren't interested in vertebrates, I wouldn't suggest taking his course. Kind of monotone voice, but great material (if you like verts). Labs are easy as pie, very few assignments overall. Lots of material to cover on tests. Occationally Bruce will have a gem of a story about verts to tell that makes it all worth it.

Bruce was an ok prof. Labs required hardly any work. Know your notes and you'll do excellent come exam time. At times, Bruce wasn't clear during lecture, but he was always willing to clarify himself.
