Comment:
Dr. Reiprich is a genuinely nice guy who doesn't seem to understand how difficult he makes his course or that this course is only worth 1 credit. 60% of the final grade in this course was tests, which, in ear training, is incredibly difficult to work with.

Comment:
Aside from the fact that Dr. Reiprich seemingly stole a good number of picnic blankets from people to make into shirts, and the more than occasional rant that has nothing to do with the class, he knows what he's talking about and in terms of theory is not that bad of a teacher!

I've had Dr. Reiprich for From and Analysis and Arranging and is planning to have him for Comp 1 and 2. He is an excellent teacher that teaches you everything you need to know. A little air headed at times but that's what makes him interesting. Don't listen to the Choral majors, they complain about everything non-choral. Reiprich is one of the best

I took Arranging from Reiprich. I was looking forward to the class when I registered for it, but it proved to be disappointing. One example is that he misused class time. He did not teach us what was on the test before we took it. A few days before, he told us what we needed to look up in our books for the test. He never covered what a quality arra

I only had Reiprich for Arranging, and it was pretty pitiful. He picked early on who his favorites were (I was a lucky one), graded arranging assignments subjectively, and taught retroactively, besides the fact that 80% of the class were Choral Ed, and he only spent one day on the voice, and taught nothing about choral arranging. Waste of time!

Comment:
Not for the lazy, but definitely for the willing to learn. Assignments can be time consuming and tedious, and in many cases you'll have to spend tons of time doing something you already understand. You do learn well, though, both traditional music theory and the vaguer aspects of music analysis. Appreciates in-class humor, but not wasting time.

Dr. Reiprich is the best teacher I have ever had. He is a well published composer and writer. His knowledge is unbounded. Yes, his assignments take time, why did you come to school? Theory usually doesn't neccesitate notes, most folks are just lazy.

Dr. Reiprich is nice, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, his pace of teaching is very hard to follow (he doesn't give notes, he just talks), his assignments are difficult to understand and require tons of outside of time.
