Comment:

I love Bryce Lane. Hes like a granddad which is nice to have a presence of at school. Hes so sweet and sincerely cares about his students and really really loves plants. It is a little difficult though, because you have to pay close attention to his long lectures to do well in the class. It is possible though!

Comment:

I took this class pass/fail for fun senior year because I had heard amazing things. I have no regrets. He's easily one of the best professors. Very engaging and gets sad when you don't laugh at his dad jokes. He doesn't take attendance, but you need to attend if you want to get an A/B. Also, his lectures are so great you'll want to attend anyways.

Bryce Lane is an extremely personable professor and cares for his students and their success. Assignments are easy and tests aren't hard as long as you attend lectures as he includes tiny details from lectures in his tests. Lectures could be more exciting but great professor overall.

Bryce Lane is the man. He is so passionate about horticulture, lectures are long but he makes them fun. Doesn't take attendance but the tests are straight from the lectures so it's best to go. You also get to visit his home to see his home garden. Fantastic experience. Hes amazing. Beware of taking this class, you might fall in love.

Bryce Lane is (by far) the best Prof you can take for Hort. He gives a break in the middle of class due to it being a single 3 hr block. He is very relaxed, caring, and his lectures are funny but informative. With good notes and minimal studying you can finish with a B/A. Four exams, two (easy) papers, and a final with questions from the old exams.

Bryce is the best professor I've ever had. I tell everyone I know to take this class! He makes you want to attend because his lectures and stories are so interesting. I loved going to that class and use what I learned all the time. If you are able to take this class with him, definitely do it!

By far the best professor I've had at NC State. Bryce is hilarious and sets you up to succeed in this class. Attendance is optional but his class is enjoyable so I would recommend going anyway. I would definitely take any class that he teaches because he's so passionate and really cares about his students.

This was one of my favorite classes I have ever taken. Bryce is an incredible professor and person! Class is so entertaining and he makes everything very interesting. Highly recommend! I wish I could have Bryce as my professor for every class!!

Quite literally the best teacher I have had and will ever had. I laugh almost to the point of tears every class! He is incredibly engaging, and obviously cares about each individual student. Take him take him take him- you will not regret it!

Bryce is such a genuinely great person, he is so kind and enthusiastic about teaching. I learned so much from him and he always kept his lectures entertaining. Attendance is optional, but asks a few very specific questions from lectures on the tests just so if you go to class you do better. Take this class if you can you won't regret it.

Probably the best teacher that I've ever had in any subject. Mr. Lane adores his subject and his enthusiasm is infectious. He knows how to make learning enjoyable and every class is something to look forward to. He won't just hand you a good grade but, if you read, pay attention, and do your homework, you will fare well. Also: He had a tv show.

Bryce is probably the best teacher I've ever had. He loves his subject and it shows in his enthusiastic teaching style. His tests can be tough but there were no surprises. You will need to pay attention, take notes, and study to get a good grade but he will give you every opportunity to succeed if you really want to.

Bryce was an amazing professor. He had a ton of knowledge on the subject area and would tell many stories that would somehow relate to what we were learning that day. He is a funny guy who also had a television show, which we got to watch for credit. I would recommend taking him if you get the chance.

Bryce Lane is one of my favorite professors of all time. You can tell that he loves his job and loves horticulture. He is passionate and that makes him a fantastic teacher. Ask to see the blooper reel from his TV show! Hilarious. Don't expect that you can not show up and get an A, he often uses specific examples given in class on exams.

If you need an easy science, this is your class. But beware: don't get so relaxed and feel like you have it in the bag that you stop coming to class. Attendance is optional, and every lecture is posted online, so it's easy to skip, but HEED MY WARNING. KEEP GOING TO CLASS ANYWAY.
