Comment:

Prof. Hoshor is the worst educator I've encountered. She is extremely disorganized, switches due dates, has no clear grading criteria or rubrics, and is overall awful at teaching this class. I hate to be so harsh but DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. I did not learn anything useful to me and the entire class was generally confused and annoyed.

Comment:

Professor Hoshor is very kind! Her class is very easy and it is an easy A. However, I didn't learn that much. If you really want to learn the programs, take another professor. If you have two other stressful classes and need an easy A, take Hoshor.

Prof. Hoshor was extremely disorganized. She did not follow her syllabus well at all, and I suspect that's because it hasn't been updated in years. Her assignment sheets are also not up to date, and some of them she's taken from other professors so they don't actually reflect her criteria for the project. You will be confused if you take her class.

Prof Hoshor is a hoot and she makes CMPA more fun than i thought it would be. I recommend taking her if you are technologically challenged like myself and just need this class for credit.

Comment:

Professor Hoshor is extremely kind and truly cares about her students. That being said, when I asked specific questions about the programs we were using she was often unable to answer them. On more than one occasion, her only response to my questions was to google the answer. While her class was generally stress-free, I do not recommend her class.

She is really nice but is very scatter brained and not a great professor. She quietly makes her own poor version of the project throughout the entire class & expects you to just absorb everything she did. She gives time for questions and she'll come over to answer them but either gets distracted before answering it or doesn't know how to answer.

I got an A+ in her class but I learned nothing. Spent an entire period learning how to crop basically. Has the absolute worst taste, the projects she creates as examples are absolutely horrible. Do not take her unless you are actually incompetent.

She's a great person, don't get me wrong. She's super considerate of how much work we may have outside of class and gives you a lot of time to work in class. She offers a lot of feedback and help, HOWEVER, when she lectures she goes the programs fairly fast and it's easy to get lost and once you lose her she basically starts to lecture herself.

Professor Hoshor is a very, very nice woman and a very caring professor. However, I found this class extremely boring. She does "tutorials" for the whole class using her own material and then you're left to do your projects by yourself, lots of times having to google things. She spends the whole 2 1/2 hours showing you very basic things in adobe.

Hoshor is an amazing person. Her classes are a bit scattered at time, but if you are just taking CMPA to get it out of the way she is great. She is understanding and will work with you if you work with her.

Doesn't explain things well. I feel like the skills I learned are mediocre and entry level compared to what other classes did. Had to teach myself a lot. She once told me that since she's grading my art, I need to do it in a style that she likes even if I don't like it. Has an outdated style and that shows in the projects/grading.

She's a sweet woman but a lot of her guidelines are unclear and after the lectures you basically have to teach yourself using tutorials and she doesn't like work that doesn't match her style so she wont give you as good of a grade as she might others who let her create their piece for them basically. Easy class because you can just sit though.

Everyone on here docking Hoshor for not understanding her style is a joke. She is open to everyone's ideas and loves to help others. She is very factual when it comes to adobe software and will always answer your questions. She is amazing and recommend her without a doubt.

Really good teacher, unfortunately the time is really limited to do all te projects so you will have to work at home and look at tutorials online. She gives really good feedback and always give extra classes if you want help. I would really recommand this class.

Comment:

Professor Hoshor's CMPA class was an easy A, but it was a nightmare. She will grade down because your style is different from hers (and her style is very tacky). The highest you can get is a 90 until the end with extra credit. The projects reflect real life (a logo, website, portfolio book) so that was helpful and the only thing I enjoyed.

If you know a lot about Abobe programs then this class will probably be fairly easy for you. However, this class gives you a chance to produce some real great work for yourself. You make a great portfolio, logo, and website all for yourself. Lucilla is very friendly woman and will always give you help and feedback when you need it.

If you have prior experience using Adobe programs, this class will be fine. She's flexible with deadlines. If you become lost, trying to get her to be clear and helpful isn't gonna happen. She also has a tacky aesthetic and will try to get you to copy it. Many resumes and portfolios looked unprofessional. Google would have been just as helpful.

She is very amigable and is willing to help you whenever you need it. She gives long lectures but are very clear and easy to follow. I took her for Survey of Computer Art Applications and she helped me learn a lot. She gives easy projects so that you can learn and enjoy the class at the same time. Worth it!

Hosher was a godsend as far as I was concerned because I knew nothing about the adobe programs and I had a fairly easy time learning. She will speak a little fast at times, but is willing to go back if needed. If you already know Adobe Suite you may be bored in her class, but no matter what she is a fairly easy A!
