Comment:

Great class, I took the lab for my DP/DY credits. The class is taught by 3 different professors in three different sections. Lecture: 3 exams, 1 self-guided field trip. Lab: 1 term paper, 1 self-guided field trip. Both the lab & lecture are easy, they just required attendance. DON'T buy the book, the prof. even told us not to. Interesting class!!!

This class consisted of three professors and several TA's. Exams are based on past exams, which can be found online. Study those and you're good to go. All the professors and TA's are extremely helpful. Take the lab class jointly if you need one for a requirement, it'll make understanding the lectures much easier.

Comment:

Chris Measures is as awesome as his accent is. He's a super cool character and he's super passionate about his work. Very inspirational. Sometimes his lectures feel a little long and he goes off on tangents, but this class is very interesting and I learned a lot from him. Uses iclickers for attendance.

Comment:

Measures is awesome and so is his accent. He makes me want to be a scientist! Very smart, does a lot of his own research, is fun to listen to and test is not hard if you go over past tests posted online. I would definitely recommend OCN 201.

I've taken chris for ocn 201, and I'm going to for 401, but he's an awesome prof and really cool character. If you're planning on just "swinging by his office" then plan on being there awhile because he can talk, but it's about some of the coolest stuff ever and he will just inspire you to stick with science.

He seems like a really nice guy, but his class isn't as easy as everyone says. I had a hard time paying attention in class because it was boring. Also, since his ratings were so good, i thought it would be a cruise class, but it wasn't.

Professor Measures is flippin awesome. He's funny, charasmatic, and scary smart. It was so nice to have him as a lecturer because he got through all the material in a clear and intersting way. Plus, all the research he does and has done makes him a great person to talk to if you want to pursue this field of work. TAKE OCN 201 if you like the ocean!

GREAT class. i loved it. so interesting and the three two other teachers he works with are great. Very clear when speaking. and all the tests are weighed the same. no major final. they take attendance with an iclicker. so you gotta go to most of them. and you have to do one selfguided fieldtrip. but its easy peasy :) great teacher

Measures is a really cool old guy with a funny Australian/British accent. He makes the subject matter interesting. He lectures on a lot of stuff that he has researched himself. It was a pretty easy class, there are past tests online for you to study with and he recycles alot if not all those questions. good class!

spontanoeus teacher. the other professor that come in and teach are super cruise. no textbook needed because his lectures covers everything and its posted on the website. also, the exams are posted too, so its a big help. it may, however, get boring at times.

chill guy who knows his stuff. best 1 of 3 ocn profs. very lively and aware of current issues. old exams and office hours make it almost impossible to do poorly. entertaining lectures.

Very memorable professor. If only more (ALL) professors had his personality!! He's 1/3 of the OCN lecture team and it's a shame because he's great. Overall, the class is too easy to fail--old tests can be printed for use as study guides and TAs are sooper nice. Chris is reason nuff to take this class, but it's also the easiest A class, too.

Overall informative and friendly. However, a bit of a warning to Christians interested in this field: lecturers in this class can and do insult Christians and Christianity for not adhering to 'facts' (earth-age, universe-creation, evolution, etc.) as proposed by science. Otherwise a good course.
