Comment:

When it comes to teaching class, she often fails to deliver on teaching the core skills. For example, on a typesetting project, she failed to teach rules. She favors teaching about designing for the web, but knows almost nothing about it. Unorganized and misses important skills! Go to another professor or upperclassman.

I totally enjoyed being confused about every single step in every single project we did. She doesn't offer a lot of work time. I recommend if you have a job you might as well quit it because you're not going to have time for projects and work. Overall, I would try to avoid her class.

Remember that scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when Harry describes being attacked by the dementors as "having no sense of self anymore, no memory, no . . . anything"... She has that effect on people. Once you're in 206, all happiness will cease to exist in your life and there is no end in sight. Bring chocolate and you might live.

This professor was no help at all. She doesn't know half of the time what the programs do. The work load is unreasonably heavy. Don't ask for a work day or you will get roasted. Do something that she doesn't like in a project? She will "punch you". Literally what she told our class. If any of your projects are good, she will make you do differ. Run

Oh so much went wrong with this professor. Diana KB Hoover is one of the worst I've had. Her teaching isn't clear at all. When she goes through the programs on the computer, half of the time she doesn't know what she's doing. Have any questions? Don't ask her, because she'll just back away slowly from you laughing. Avoid her at all costs. Run.

Diana Hoover is the worst professor I have ever had. She avoids every question that is asked because she doesn't know the answer, and has actually walked away instead of answering the question, leaving us students hanging. She is also extremely rude to students, even if they are in her own class. I would recommend not taking any of her classes.

Diana Hoover is the worst professor I have ever had in my life. It is amazing how much time she can waste. Don't expect work days, instead, expect to sit there for the full 2.5 hour class listening to completely useless information. She is rude to students, assignments are NEVER clear, and the work load is heavy. Avoid her at all costs.

Honestly, Diana is the literal worst. She is the most unprofessional professor I have ever dealt with. It is insane the amount of homework she expects us to do without little instruction or explaining. She also can get very rude if you do something wrong. If you have her, I would do all you can to try to switch professors, trust me.

Horrible professor. She is never clear on her assignments and is no help at all. Every time asked about a question, she avoids the question and answers around the entire question. She makes everything confusing and ALWAYS emails you about last minute assignments.

Not a lot of feed back, but very positive and helpful when given. Assignments were very open, I wasn't really sure what was expected of me, however having minimal guidelines left a lot of room for creativity. Not a lot of instruction on how to use programs required. The teacher did however show enthusiasm and encouragement in the course.

Diana is terrible at communicating what she wants, and is always adding things at the last minute. She is very closed-minded, and is not very helpful. However, I do feel that because of her difficulties, it is forcing me to figure more out on my own and learn and grow more which is hopefully helping to make me a stronger designer.

She doesn't give much to any help/critiques while you're working and only tells you what you did wrong after you've already spent two weeks on it. She grades art without explanation of why she graded it that way. The only reason my drawing improved was because of the practice. Not worth my time, and especially not my money (arts management student)

She was inconsistent for her guidelines in every project. Each project had more requirements added throughout the process of the projects. Her deadlines always changed last minute. Her final was way too much work for us students,just so it was more convenient for her. Horrible teacher. Was never clear on anything.

She tries to help you sometimes it helps but other times its just more confusing. I was not always sure what was due for the next class. She is all over the place when she is explaining things. She is vague in her directions but she does try to push you out of your comfort zone. If she was a little more organized she would be a better teacher.

She really stresses "craft" and matte board cutting skills (hard to do at first!) Would be nice if she would grade each project when turned in not just mid Term and final so there is a better chance to improve skills for next project and to remake for a better grade. Not clear on what she wants for projects but will answer Q's So ask alot of Q's!!!

It seems that she is one of those profs that you love or you hate. I don't deny that she's everywhere at once, making it hard to feel like she's focusing on you at all times... But I personally feel if she thinks you really care, then she cares too. All say what you wish, she has been my biggest inspiration as GD teachers go.
