Comment:
About as bad as professors get. Grading criteria were also pretty ridiculous (lose a lot of marks for very small things, whereas other mistakes get nothing off). Hopefully he doesn't continue teaching E&M. The material is actually interesting and accessible, but he makes it pain.

I stopped going to class after the first midterm because I realized that I would learn better if I just read the textbook. Lectures were really dull and confusing, and the tests were really really tough.

This is a self-learning class. His lectures are useless. His solutions are not only confusing, but also wrong. Read the textbook, memorize the formulas (his formula sheet has very little formulas), and google the solutions. Work hard and pray for a pass.

He is a renewable researcher but a certain BAD lecture, actually worst i have seen in UBC. What he taught, what you did in homework and what you will be tested in the exams are completely different from each other. His lecture essentially is a multivarialbe calculus lesson. He taught you the derivation in a very confusing way and tested application

His handwriting it impossible to read! His partial sign looks exactly like a 2... He also makes a lot of typos and often skips steps in his solutions. Go to TA's office hours!

Comment:
Understanding the textbook is your best chance. Problem sets are irrelevant and exams are long. His notation is disorganized and his solutions and diagrams are inconsistent. He's also willing to help out if needed, but eh. I have nothing personal against him. In fact, he has done some incredible work in the field. He just isn't a good professor.

Comment:
Teaches the class like a math class except that he doesn't define any of his notation. Lectures are difficult to follow, notes and solutions are nearly impossible to follow. Homework assignments and practice problems do not adequately prepare you for midterms but take a huge amount of time. I would avoid him if possible.

Comment:
Awful, awful notation. Formatted equations for a math-focused course in Times New Roman: is VxB a multiplication, a cross product or a variable? Extremely unhelpful, somewhat combative with students. Often misunderstands audience questions. Confusing assignments with no preparation material for tests.

Worst professor I've ever had. Avoid if at all possible, especially since the curriculum is difficult even with a good professor. His explanations and slides are useless. He did not provide sample exams, tutorial solutions, or even midterm solutions. I'm pretty sure nobody finished the final.

Nice guy, poor teacher. If at all possible I would strongly suggest avoiding his class. If you have to take a class with him, be prepared to learn from your textbook. Lectures are useless, and little guidance is provided on assignments. Our midterm was worth 40% and only 1 hour long.

Most people would say he is an awful prof, but on the contrary compared to others he is very clear, organized and projects his expectations for the exams clearly. He is a tough prof and it will be hard, but with sufficient study its okay.

Useless. Like those who said it before, he makes you wanna sleep. Mid-term was super long, impossible to finish in 1hr 20 min. Very unrealistic expectation. He's really lousy as a prof...what more can I say?! Avoid if you can! I could have...my biggest regret in UBC is taking this course with him!

He doesn't spend enough time going over answers of the hard activities. Slides are not that helpful and don't seem to explain the material that well.

Utterly useless prof. He does class activities. These are when he posts a hard question on the projector and waits 15 minutes for the students to solve. The students have absolutely no idea how to solve it at just wait for 15 minutes. Then he rushes past the solution in less than 30 seconds and moves to the next activity. Completely useless Prof.

Probably on my top 3 worst profs I have ever had at UBC. He is worst than I can possibly put in words. Its an experience thing. Try to avoid at any cost. He is very nice to talk to but cannot explain anything to you that remotely makes sense. Only recently did he decide to put lecture notes online which would have been helpful if they were any good

Comment:
A worthless professor. His monotonous voice makes you want to fall asleep. His PPT slides are pure math without explanation, and he doesn't use LaTeX to format the equations which makes it difficult to read. He doesn't post any practice midterms or finals on the website, nor does he give a formula sheet to the final, which was absurdly hard.
