You must teach yourself in this class. Lecture is not helpful, even confusing. Go to other people for help. I would not recommend this class. He does offer lots of extra credit though, and his class work is easy. Not very helpful for actually learning though.

Not too good at explaining what he's teaching. If you're not good at math, you shouldn't take him. If you are good at math, then you should be fine, just read the material before you come to class. He's a great review.

I received a 5 on HS AP calc exam, so I knew the material prior, but his class was easy! Test questions and Quizzes were straight from homework, and there wasn't a ridiculous amount of homework. Great guy, but cannot teach

This guy is CAKE! quizzes are direct HW problems and the homework is all the easy stuff. If you have a tough semester, have already taken calc (cuz you're not going to get it "taught"), and you're looking for a "coast" class, hit this up.

Very difficult to follow in-class. Does not explain subject matter or procedures for solutions. Speech and handwriting are sloppy and hard to understand. Prone to long, irrelevant story-telling. Tests themselves are easy, significantly more so than homework. Recommend you find another professor if you don't particularly enjoy teaching yourself.

Braithwait is a really smart old dude, but he cant explain anything. He pretty much does math problems on the board for an hour and expects you to know what he is doing all the time. Its really hard to understand him when he talks because he doesn't talk fluidly. Try to get another teacher.

His in class lectures were terrible. He talked to much to the board and not enough to the class. He is an absolutely brillant man who can't explain subject matter in an understandable manner.

Lectures can be hard to sit through sometimes, but thats more the subject than the professor. The tests are easy if you've actually done the homework. All in all I like the clas pretty well and I'll hopefully be taking Calc II from him next semester.

He has the worst teaching style I've ever seen, goes on wild tangents, teaches stuff that you don't need to know. BUT If you go to him with the questions you have for him in his office (which he has long hours in) you will do well if you study. In the office he is extremely understandable, and will work with you till you understand.Otherwise->fail

Braithwaite takes too many tangents and doesn't spend enough time on the material that should be covered in the class for any student to learn what he orr she should during the class.

Comment:
Milton from Office Space. Boring and Hard to follow. Eccentric. Nice guy. Not a great teacher. Not horrible either, I blame the math for it. I failed, but I won't blame him. The guy who wrote that Braithwaite caused him to drop out of engineering is just ridiculous. Brathwaite is a mediocre teacher at best, but calc is tough.
