Comment:
She's very, very smart. There's a lot of information to remember, but the midterms tended not to ask anything extremely difficult, and there wasn't a final. She also has a pretty straightforward lecturing style that gives you all the information quickly. I disliked the student lecture bit, just because some people took forever. Learned a lot.

If you have the opportunity to take the course, take it! Consists of two exams (50%), a paper (25%) and participation (25%). You are required to do a group presentation, and also a presentation on the final paper. A lot of reading, but it is all so interesting. Professor Loftus is an expert in the field and this is reflected throughout class

Everyone wants to take this class because the professor is considered some kind of "profound intellectual" when in reality she is only interested in her own research which really isn't that great, and she makes the students teach almost everything. Tests are only 25 questions and are quite difficult, there are hundreds of pages of reading per week.

Fine professor, good material - hate the format of the class. You really spend 23 of the quarter being re-taught the weeks readings from your peers which sucks. I took the class to be taught by her - not my classmates. Makes you do a presentation on reading + 7-9 pg paper + pres. on that. Midterm and a final. Not too hard if you go to class & read

Great teacher - seems to focus on clear communication. Rare combination of very scientifically gifted and a clear communicator.

So far, my favorite class in my college experience. A lot of material, but how well it is presented and how interesting it is makes it so much easier to absorb, retain and avoid feeling like schoolwork. If you get the chance to benefit from her experiences and her research, i strongly suggest you jump on it. Take this class and thank me later.

Eyewitness Testimony, sounds interesting but she doesn't teach anything. Requires students to lead discussions of the readings for 3 hours each week. She only pipes up when it is regarding her own research. Boring!
