Comment:

TA based class but he chooses great ones (most undergrad). Show that you care through papers & group discussions and you'll be fine. Interesting material and students really admire Prof. Fellman. Topics are engaging, lectures can be quite long, bland, & he tends to repeat himself but he's caring and the material is interesting. Books not all needed

Comment:

You can't disagree with this man and no critical analysis of anything is ever brought up in class. Very surface level thinking so the classes are very easy but they don't give you anything. I would not recommend.

Earns raves by currying favor with lefty students. Actually glib. Piles one commonplace assertion atop another. Relishes posing as intellectual provocateur. But can not tolerate contradiction. Flies into a rage and resorts to ad hominem attack if persistently challenged. Assume student debt to study with this guy? Money down the drain!

Gordie is phenomenal. Probably one of the most empathetic human beings I've ever met. He has a huge influence on his students, and it's definitely a profoundly good influence.

mind-opening prof. truly forces you to question your every belief. frustrating when you realize it should be "war and no/little possibilities of peace" in no time. he makes students frustrated by status quo, but it is an amazing experience to question everything and reconsider if/how you can be a consciously peaceful being in this world of hatred.

Gordie is an amazing professor an all-around good guy. He is the ultimate prof in that doesn't force rote memorization, but rather forces you to struggle with your own presuppositions and biases, even if you agree with him (which is probably why a lot of people can find his class frustrating). Just have an open mind and be willing to ask WHY?

Terrible teacher, I didn't learn a thing other than ultra leftist talking points. Constantly bashed anyother opinion than his own and offered no logical ideas to affect change. His assignments make no sense and are required to be done in groups which don't yield themselves at all. STAY AWAY, Most Overrated Teacher at Brandeis.

Gordie is a good and interesting professor. I'd recommend taking one of his classes in your time at Brandeis. He may be a bit overrated, but I did learn a good amount from his classes and I enjoyed the layout and partnered paper writing.

If you hug trees, walk around barefoot..grow your leg hairs REALLY LONG..or are an all around hippy..THIS IS YOUR MAN. He's got great insight into everything from global warming to why blacks hate whites. Remember this guy was boys with Morrie, from "Tuesdays with Morrie"..I would take him for whatever course he's teaching..he makes a muther****er read alot which is good, I guess. He knows a thing or two about Barbara Eirenreich and that bunch.

Most OVERRATED PROFESSOR AT BRANDEIS!! Spent way too much time selling his political viewpoints, regardless of its relevance to subject matter. And this is coming from someone who is just as liberal/left wing as him. If he ever had "it," Gordie's lost "it."
