Dr. Wallace makes the material really interesting by having you read a different academic article before each class instead of using a textbook. His lectures can be kind of long-winded but as long as you do the readings & pay attention the exams are manageable. He's really laid-back and accessible.

Dr. Wallace is one of the most down to earth professors I've had. He is very understanding and chill. His class is super interesting and he assigns relevant articles rather than making us buy a textbook.

He rambles all the time making it difficult to know what is important. You will get a good grade but learn NOTHING!

Most genuine professor in the department. His class can be very challenging but he will get you through it if you ask for help!

I came to college wanting to major in Psych and then I took this intro class. That should say enough. I had Wallace for my FYE as well as this intro class, so I saw way too much of him. His tests were so hard (don't think I ever got higher than a B- on any). He was so frustrating b/c you could never give a right answer when he calls on you.

Comment:
For an intro class, PSYC-1300 with Dr. Wallace is hard. There's a LOT of reading, and the tests tend to cover random "trivia" from the book that you would never think would matter. You never really know what you're gonna get. Dr. Wallace is a good professor, though, so the class is not bad, overall. The usual. I love psych, so I enjoyed it.

Dr. Wallace is a very laid back professor in class, but I found him to be very ambiguous. He goes off on tangents in class that you don't think are very relevant, but will end up on the test. Overall I enjoyed the challenge of this class because I was forced to read the textbook (which I was not used to) in order to get A's on tests.

This is NOT the professor to take for intro. Wallace will kill all your interest in psychology without lifting a finger. There is no structure in the course, you learn nothing, and then his tests are long and complicated even though you have learned none of it in class. So frustrating-- I wish I had never taken this class.

Dr. Wallace is a funny guy. His humor is super dry, but he makes sure that you know the material for the tests. You do need to study for his tests though. He makes you work for the grade that you get.

Awesome guy. Really monotone; dry humor. Lectures aren't really much like the book notes, so being all over the place or not really knowing what's going on is likely to happen. Test are really hard, but Wallace will help you anytime after class if you ask. Extra credit with psych experiments too

He inspired me to study psychology! Very interesting, very chill, pretty difficult. Not an easy A -- but worth it. I took his class because it was the only one open at registration and ended up loving it.

Dr. Wallace is a great professor and always made things interesting even at 8:30 am when none of us felt like participating. I highly recommend him for any class. Very understanding and fair, just make sure you attend each class and go to office hours! Hint- for your papers he seems to appreciate students who use the stacks not just the internet.

Great class! Loved it! Interesting topic and dr. Wallace is nice friendly and very laid back! Work load was low considering other courses. Only 5 papers over the entire semester. Attendance is required and will impact your grade if you don't show up.

Dr. Wallace gives awesome lectures. I learned so much in his class and can actually remember the information and apply it in my other Psych classes. There is a lot of reading, but it's all interesting stuff. I highly recommend this course to all students, whether for Psych major requirements or common curric.

Dr. Wallace is definately in his element in social psych. I liked lectures. I thought the proposal assignments were fair. And tests were fine as long as you have good attendnece and read the book (even if its the night before the test, read it!). The pdfs he assigns means tons of reading! Wallace is nice and hlpful in office hours.

Took Social Psychology. Readings were awesome and did a great job highlighting an awesome field of research. Wallace is cryptic at times but is generally clear and knows his stuff very well. Candid, relaxed, and funny. Movies and sound bites accompany the curriculum. Research proposals and tests are super challenging and it's hard to do well.

If you read the book and go to class the class won't be bad. He tries to make the material interesting and seems like a nice guy. Class was boring some days, but the tests were fair and if you don't go every so often it wasn't a big deal.
