Honestly one of the worst professors in my experience at OIT. She obviously has no agenda, going off on random tangents about what she'd like you to cook her for your demonstrative speech, how overly sensitive women are (seriously), etc. Appeared to hold grudges with certain students in my class. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

Comment:

Everyone should take this class. Calvo really teaches techniques that help manage your stress. Out of all the Comm and Psy classes I have taken at OIT thus far, psy 325 has been the most effective for me.

She is a very nice teacher. I know that some people said her opinions were "bias", but she never said anything like that in our class. Speeches are easy, and as the class progresses you start to feel more comfortable in front of people. So overall the class was effective.

Comment:

The class is extremely easy. You hardly have to try. There's few assignments and she wastes a lot of time in class BS'ing about garbage. Once she gets on her neverending tangent, just do work for other classes or draw stuff. I drew a baked potato, a walnut, and a filbert nut. They were some of my best drawings.

Calvo is so cool. She gave a pizza party the last day of class. She lets you read your writing as out loud for EC! Definately take from calvo. Know how to format your essays MSL style.

Writing is not my strongpoint, but Calvo's class was suprisingly easy compared to other classes I have taken dealing with writing. She allows rewrites on the majority of assignments. Do your assignments and you'll pass. Also, be sure to have people proofread your papers. She wants the class to virbally argue, which isn't the class, but oh well.
