Very animated. Took his intersession during Summer B. his final exam was open book and note. If you write down almost everything he says you'll have a rough draft of the answer key for the final.

Comment:
He is highly charismatic and a commanding presence in lecture, always with fun stories to tell. Too generous with tests; he gives 5 extra questions out of 50 which are essentially free; no penalty for missing, but credit for getting. Tests are tricky, but not overly technical or difficult. Outlines not really needed to pass or get good notes.

I thought his section of REL101 was the most interesting. It was like we were sitting around a campfire and he was telling a story. The test can be tricky if you don't study. You need to take GREAT notes. Read each test question very carefully to make sure you have the absolute right answer. study your notes hardcore and you'll do great.

Best professor of the three. Never opened the book during his time teaching. The first day her is there, he emphasizes that important info will be written on the board, spelled out loud, or repeated slowly. Those important things were the only things on the test. Go to the lectures, take notes, get an A.

Lectures are very interesting and attendance (although not mandatory) is a MUST since test is based off lectures. BEWARE, TEST IS HARD. He tests on the most minute details and most questions have 2 or 3 correct choices so even though it's only a 40 q test, he really is asking 80 or 90 questions. Study extra hard, you will do fine.

Of the three professors that teach REL101 (team taught), he is by far the best. He is the most clear and his exam is the most fair. His section was the most interesting also, it was more like we were listening to a story rather than being lectured. Highly recommend!

Interesting class...great teacher! Tests are a bit tricky, but easy if you study the notes that you take in class. Didn't use the book at all and still got an A.

Fitzgerald is easily the MOST engaging professor on this campus. Everything is straight from the notes which are presented in an outline form; 5 questions on each test are drawn from the text but they aren't difficult. I'm seriously thinking of adding a minor just because he is THAT GOOD. The proof is in the pudding...read the other reviews.

Fitzgerald is an amazing professor. Very detailed knowledge of his field. Explains all terms and events very clearly. Tests depend heavily on notes and less on book. Take good notes and it's an easy A.

He is a fantastic teacher, and the class is entertaining. However, his tests are so detailed that you can't do anything in class but take many many notes. If his tests were more basic, I feel I would get more out of the class by being allowed to sit and really absorb what he was saying rather than worrying about little details.

Terrific professor. Lectures are well organized, and he provides an outline for lectures in order to help students follow along. Supplements his teaching with personal anecdotes that are not only funny but provide students with an easy way of understanding the material. Tests are challenging and detailed but multiple choice and straight off notes.

This guy teaches his stuff based on an outline making it sort of easy to take notes, a lot of notes required not to much of reading the book. His test questions are made to trick you into failing, multiple choice with things like A and B or B and C or A B and C, which confuses the student
