Comment:
Runde does not use canvas or online homework website. The homework is given from book and is due (on paper) the beginning of next class. The lectures are pretty straightforward. Take good notes during lecture, the examples from lecture are very similar to problems on the exam. He curves the grades at the end (it really helps!).

Comment:
Runde is a great professor. His lectures are all based on what he writes on the board, and he does not use Canvas at all. After every class period, he assigns a homework assignment that is due beginning of next class. Exams are worth a lot and are based on LECTURE. The best advice I could give is to study all the examples he provides.

Dr. Runde was a blessing to my work-filled semester. NO HOMEWORK for labs, pre or post. We scarcely followed the lab manual; he'd modify the experiments to do the minimum we needed to test the concept. All lab reports done on paper in class, and we'd often be done 30 mins before the period ended. He likes his straightedges; always graph w/ a ruler.

Dr. Runde expects you to do your learning outside the classroom and he shows demonstrations in lecture. He also gives away examples of what may be on the exam. Only 2 exams and a final that are free response. Practice, practice, practice, and practice the exam review problems. Tough class. Grades with partial credit which can be helpful.

Hes a decent teacher and he lectures fine, but hes unfair when it comes to turning in the hw. My class before this is all the way across campus, up three flights of stairs. I get to his class, hw in hand at 2:00pm, 2:01 at latest. I go to turn it in on top of the stack of everyone elses hw and he tells me I cant and grabs the stack of hw -_-

He's very knowledgeable. He doesn't like to plug in numbers in the formulas until the very end when he gets 1 formula. He may cover the material really fast, so read in advance. Stopping by in his office is helpful. There are a midterm and a final, 25% and 40% of your final grade. There is homework (5-6 problems) every class. You'll learn a lot.

Exams, hw, and lab grade make up the grades. So very little gets graded and if you do bad on the exams, your grade will definitely suffer. There are plenty of resources to do well though. Go to SI go to learning center, watch Doc Shuster and DrPhysicsA on YouTube. If you get B's on both midterms, do all hw, and get an A in lab, an A is possible.

2 midterms, 1 final, no quizzes. All exams are done without a calculator but numbers are simple to work with. HW questions are from textbook. He solves hw questions on the board and goes over the test solutions as well.

Oddly enough he doesn't provide a schedule in his syllabus when the tests will be, so attend class. He dedicates a day before the exam to review. Whatever he writes on the board implies what he's going to test on. There are 2 midterms, 1 final, all free-response, and no calculators. It's best to go over the hw and look up videos about the topics.

There is hw everyday. It's best to just rent the textbook using Amazon kindle for about $25. The hw is confusing but hey that's physics for you, luckily most of the solutions can be found online. Notes are not difficult to take since he writes everything on the board. Write everything down because sometimes he shows how to do some of the hw.

Professor Runde is a chill professor. His lectures can be a bit dry and boring at times but the topics are fascinating at the same time. It usually doesn't make sense until you do the hw and apply it in lab. With that in mind, there is hw every day. You hand it in before the start of class. As long as you attempt it, he gives you full credit.

Rude may be hard to understand during lecture, but go to his office hours and he'll help you out a lot. Also, go to tutoring if he's not in his office. HW-10%, Two midterms-25%each, final-40%. Try to score higher than the test average in order to beat the curve and get a good grade. HW after every lecture. Has good demos as well. Be responsible.

Dr. Runde is great! He really knows his stuff. Ask lots of questions in class or he will assume everyone understands or does not care enough to ask. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, he is very helpful. Read a lot. Use Hyperphysics to understand basic concepts. Know basic algebra. Physics in general is hard, so be prepared to put in time and effort.

Very tough grader, and lectures are not only boring and uninteresting, but he blows through material, which makes it very hard to follow. I spent countless hours online looking up topics that I did not have to in 2A. Avoid if you can, homework doesn't resemble the test, and tests are very tough, knowing is not nearly enough, always a curve ball.

He teaches fine. If you're confused about something make sure to ask. Sometimes his lectures seem to go on forever. Though attendance isn't mandatory, if you miss a day you miss a ton of information. Take good notes and pay attention and you'll be fine. Also there's SI if you're still having trouble.

2 midterms; Final uses some old quest wsome changes. Free response. Go to office hours after test & he may add some points. Lecture can be boring; he skips steps cuz he assumes you understand but ASK and he will explain it. Try using old exams to see how his tests are. HW from book is harder than his tests. TestsB, C. LabA, IDK final. Curved: A
