I took the online course, and even though you meet once a week, you will DREAD going to his class. His lectures are very heavy and most people fall asleep within the first 20 minutes. There's NO NOTES, and no matter how hard you work on your papers, it won't be enough. The essay questions are very vague and he expects you to go very in depth.

Talks the whole entire class about economy. No tests or homework. Only gives a final which is an in class essay, plus other essays throughout the semester. Participation matters A LOT. He will give you a failing grade if you do not participate numerous times throughout class. Do not take if you dont like history or dont like participating.

I took his online course and he gives a 5pg essay every week. on top of that a 600 word discussion post with 3 responses. I recommend that if u already don't enjoy history don't take this class.

The class itself was not hard at all, I took it online and was pretty straight forward but their were way too many essays and writing assignments. He is also an impossible grader, nothing seemed good enough for him he always wanted more specifics. I would write 6 pages on a 3-5 page essay and it still wouldn't be enough info. Wouldn't take again.

Menna was a good teacher. Had him for my history through film class. Just had to participate a lot and you are fine. Didn't have a lot of grades. Just the participation, a group project with a group paper and the final. Found out the grade to the project till the date of the final.

Menna is alright. I am taking his online course, and for the most part, it is writing a response to a question and replying to your classmates. It is easy. The essays are more tougher and he grades more strictly.

Took this online and he would require 2 writing assignments every 2 weeks that would need to be 400 or more words. You would need to answer 3 discussions as well which does get a little tough to get done. Also he requires 3 essays throughout the course. He gives enough time to do them it was just a little excessive, but do-able.

Great class. Easy way to knock out a history Gen Ed. If you remember a shred of history from HS and come to class everyday you will walk out with an B or higher.

Well rounded professor with a knowledgeable background of American history. Classes are lecture based and participation matters. Clear syllabus. Good personality, with an abstract perspective of American films. Would recommend.

Class discussions super easy, write a post and make comments on a few other people's posts, papers were easy but he graded them kinda difficult i got 2 b's and the rest a, you have to post within a couple days not just all on one day and has to be a real comment not just "i agree blah blah blah" but still easy class would take him again

- Entire class is lecture with maybe a few videos thrown in. No notes, no powerpoints. Straight talk. - 100% intolerant of electronics, restricted student input. - Lenient grader, friendly personality - Requires reading, but test questions are more lecture based - Lectures are sometimes opinionated, will not listen to opposing opinions.

Don't take his online class. It's more of a writing class than a History Class.

Outstanding professor. His knowledge of subject matter is beyond proficient. Lectures are based on previously assigned reading and tests are based on one's ability to recall information. Grading is curved fairly to compensate for the difficulty. His class has been one of the few instances which has persuaded me to pursue a career as a professor.

Topics for essays are too vague. He asked for 800 words in his essays. I gave him 2400 and still he said I did not cover all the material. He needs to be clearer in his questions for his online classes. He did not ask for feedback after the completion of the course which allows students to put in suggestion for course improvement

American History Online Intersession - REALLY difficult. 2 essays 4 discussion with 4 responses. Very vague topics and a lot of subjects to cover. Didn't make it totally clear what he wanted in each Essay. Said 800 words, but totally impossible to be thorough without doubling or tripling the amount of words.

Extremely nice and passionate. His lectures do get off topic at times but he gets his point across. Just show up, participate in discussion and do the work he assigns and you'll get an A. (only about 3 things a semester!)

Comment:
Online history. Lectures just lists of points, very dull. Disappointed the prof taught no interesting twists of history. Discussion & essay topics were vague almost philosophical. Midterm essay: How was Civil War the realization of ideals of American Revolution. Rarely participated in online discussions except to say we missed point of vague topics
