Maria was by far the best English professor I have had. I learned more in my prep comp from her than my 101&102. She wants you to learn as much as she wants to teach. You can tell she is a dedicated person to her profession. I will be taking her 103 class. She does not like chatter and she will let you know politely. Awesome Professor!!

Wonderful!! She is really nice and talks to me everytime she sees me--and I only had her for a quarter. Prof. Damen changed my entire perspective on writing. I think I learned more in her Prep. Comp. class than I did in 101 and 102!

Very helpful. Teach you what you need to know for the test, and she is very detailed. She will even tutor you in the writing lab if you are struggling with your papers. She can be hard if you don't do your work, but if do everything you should do, then it will be worth it in the end. You will learn so much!

She is truly helpful if you are ever in need of help. Unforunately, because she goes out of her way to make sure that everyone understands everything, the class can certainly drag on going over the same material over and over again. Sometimes not challenging enough to keep it interesting.

She is the SWEETEST woman in the whole world. She was telling me about her teenage years when I went there and she was really wild... never would guess it now. Love her to death. She loves teaching and it shows. She'll help you with anything you need. Take her class just to meet her.
