Comment:
Inconsistent and insanely tough grader. Unconstructive feedback is just complaints or questions. Passive aggressive and shames students for "reading voice." Disorganized and assigns work with less than 24 hours to complete it (more like 6-8 hours). Highly critical and focuses on her viewpoint, negating students. Ignores emails and sends blasts

She's eccentric and very passionate. I took Intimacy in American Literature, and it was a really cool class. Readings were great, genuinely enjoyed them. She's a lovely person (v motherly) and cares a lot about her students, but can come off as passive-aggressive. Reading quizzes are based on her personal stances of the stories, so pay attention.

Professor Noble is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. Her class is tough but taught me so much. She pushes you because she believes in your ability to do well. If you just want an easy A, this isn't for you. If you want to be pushed to be a better student and better, more critical person, this is the class for you. Love her so much

It's a Lit class so there is bound to be a LOT of reading and you HAVE to do it to pass but the texts are amazing and you will take something you completely didn't expect out of each of them. Noble is such a sweetheart and is SO passionate about literature. Took this as a blow off gen ed and was so surprised with how much I ended up loving it.

Professor Noble is one of the best if not the best teacher I've ever had. Classes are engaging, she's very passionate, and she is willing to meet with you and loves helping students. Definitely a lot of reading, but keep up and you will do well. I would take a class of hers again in a heartbeat.

Very smart, I feel like I genuinely learned from her discussions of books (which is, unfortunately, a rare feeling in some lit courses). She's tough, but if you're dedicated to taking her advice you will improve.

I love Noble. She is awesome. She is very passionate about literature and will be dramatic when discussing lit, which makes her endearing. This course will be an A if you DO THE WORK. It's not required for anything, so don't take it if you're not interested in american lit. Go to office hours and participate. She has lots to teach if you work hard.

Prof Noble is the best person, teacher, mentor, IF you like her style. If not, I can see how some people don't like her. She's a hippie for sure. I've taken her twice and I think something has happened to her in the past 2 years that has made her more open and much kinder. She is creative and caring and spiritual, and an overall good person.

Just awful. Picks favorites, interrupts students to tell them they're wrong, condescending, refuses to even entertain any opinion differing from her own. I leave every class wishing I could get those 75 minutes of my life back. If you enjoy literature, don't take her.

Generally a bit scattered, and I often left class wondering what, exactly, had been accomplished. Still, paper topics are easy, and she's always willing to help those who go talk to her during office hours. Some readings were boring, others were really, really good. All in all, her classes are good as long as your not dead set on consistencey.

She is awful. She is NOT open to new ideas; she will shoot you down in a second. She ignores raised hands. She has her own agenda. Her paper assignments are stupidly precise, and she will punish you if you don't follow them to a T. Students do not feel encouraged to speak in class. She is just not a good professor. Avoid her.

Comment:
She has extremely strict guidelines for writing papers and only wants it exactly her way. You can write an A paper but if it isn't exactly what she wants, written the way she lays out she will give it a bad grade. Going to office hours to discuss the paper doesn't help. She's extremely condescending and is not open to alternative interpretations.

Has very high expectations for papers, though there are only 2. Makes class interesting, and you can tell she loves her subject, but has a tendency to shoot down ideas she doesn't agree with. Though she's open to new ideas, you need to know her take for the final. However, she makes your week if she compliments you. I recommend her.

I only say she's hot b/c she wore a see through skirt once. The writings are fun & allow you freedom. Most of readings interesting (except Housekeeping & Whitman) although she's open to all interpretations. Lots of peer editing & group work. Ok w/ ppl sleeping in class. Very cool to talk to in office hours. The Shakespeare Theatre trip is great!
