I don't get bored easy at all but I Fell asleep in every class.Whispers & you cant hear her at all/Never read the whole chapter ever!!just the paragraph where the art piece is referenced in the txbk/ whole test is scan tron and the paper is optional. 3 tests only. she makes you sign in, not sure if it really affects your grade or not.

Comment:

Very very boring. It's hard to pay attention in class because at times you can't hear her and she speaks with no emotion whatsoever. Tests should be easy because she posts review slides for them, but since I retained nothing during class I found them difficult. Textbooks are unnecessary and there is a optional essay at the end.

This class is really boring. Her voices literally makes it impossible to pay attention because you can barely hear her. It's not a hard class though as long as you study the review slides she posts, you should easily get a B or B+. She offers extra credit and there's an optional final essay. Don't need to open the books, just go to class and study

Comment:

MOST BORING CLASS EVER. She literally faces the board and reads her powerpoints word for word, and the material is just copied out of the textbook. She whispers when she talks and is extremely monotone. She is unhelpful, and unenthusiastic. Don't even think about taking a class with her. I ignored that warning and took it anyway, and I regret it!

Extremely boring. The tests are mediocre in difficulty. I studied a lot, and managed an A, but not an easy fine arts grade. The class is torture, but definitely study powerpoints and review slides she posts for exams.

Take it with someone else. I studied my ass off for all of the exams and ended up with a C. She is boring, unclear about what is on tests, and it does not even appear that she cares about what she's teaching. I know it's a M/F/, but if you want a lower GPA take it.

if you want a teacher who stands with her back to you and whispers the lectures, this is the class for you! Don't bother asking her to repeat herself, because she will ignore you and move on. The tests are not at all like she explains and have fun memorizing every single painting she shows during class. TAKE A DIFFERENT CLASS

She is the worst. If you want to feel like your soul is slowly being ripped out, this is the class for you. She makes the tests on random pictures that she mentions once in class and expects you to remember literally everything. Not an easy class. She doesn't answer your questions but just stares at you. Do NOT reccomend.

Nice lady and really is knowledgeable about the subject. Barely had any work. That being said, the class and her style of teaching was so incredibly boring that I had barely any notes because I couldn't focus. But I studied well for the exams and managed to rack up an A- at the end, so I can't hate on the course too much!

Got an A. She can be oblivious to what's going on around her and has a monotone voice that will put you to sleep. The tests are easy, just read through the slides 3 times beforehand and know the foreign terms. You don't have to go to class, just sign the attendance sheet after. Extra credit is available if you need it. The Darsan book is optional.

Definitely the worst professor I have ever encountered. I thought this might be a fun class, but she seems so disinterested in her own subject that it makes it boring for the rest of us. However, it is my most productive time of the day, as far as catching up on physics homework/ sleep goes. Good class for the F/M/, but very boring.

ABSOLUTELY the worst professor I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE ART HISTORY 281 with her. She literally makes her Powerpoints by copying verbatim from the textbook (with like 3 typos on each page). Her tests are absolutely ridiculous and require memorizing hundreds of slides. The final was 14 pages long with 5 absurdly long, specific essays. Stay away!

Absolutely the most disorganized professor I have ever encountered. She makes what could be a very interesting class (Africa, Oceana, Native Am., Asia) the most boring thing on earth. I'll second the "so boring it's hard". The only book you may want to purchase is Darsan for the optional final essay. NW+Fine Arts core= only reason to take this.

this class is a waste of time. she makes you sign an attendance sheet but i dont think she uses it. easy fine arts credit if you pay attention but the class is so boring its hard. she drones on and the exams are just slides she shows in class. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOKS!!!! save yourself the $180 and dont buy them

I am taking a latin american art class with her now and I am telling you not to take this class. We're half way through the semester before we got our first test, which has been our only grade so far, and there were hundreds (not exaggerating) of slides to study. Very boring. test was hard.

I didn't learn anything useful in this class. It was a waste of time even going. Everything on the tests will be from the slideshow. She takes mandatory attendance but I dont think she uses it in grading. The paper becomes optional. Don't buy or read the books. Its a waste of time. Easy option for a fine arts core.

Tests have a lot of information, but if you study they're not bad. She also offers quite a bit of extra credit. Kind of a boring class, but not bad.
