Professor Brown is a decent professor. He often thinks he is more humorous than he is. The class was somewhat boring.

Painfully boring lectures, but attend class anyways. Unclear about his standards until he posted the final grade. Must check behind him. Quizzes, tests, and final are all online. Fairly easy class, just terribly boring.

Brown is dull to listen to, and rarely covers anything that isn't in the textbook. Read, and you'll be fine- though he does take random attendance. I stopped going to class after Fall Break and still got an A-.

Comment:
Brown is awful, plain and simple. His lectures are dull and his grading structure is unclear. He's arrogant and out of touch with students (he did go to BROWN after all). Exams are unreasonable and he tests on obscure materials. Anything but this to fill 4B, seriously kids.

Comment:
Not worth the GER, trust me. Most boring lecture class I've been in, and material does not help on tests at all. Not as easy as you'd think - ridiculous, vague test questions that he thinks are easy. Would not recommend.

Comment:
If you are looking for an easy GER class and don't actually care about archaeologoy, you won't like this class. If you have any interest in archaeology, it is very interesting. Prof Brown really knows his stuff and if you get his sense of humor, the lectures can be funny.

Comment:
A truly boring class. The lectures and readings are generally uninteresting. The tests are also surprisingly specific and their difficulty doesn't seem proportional to the amount of learning done in class. Fulfills GER4B, but not really worth it. I'm sure it's not hard to get an A in, but it's too boring to dedicate the effort to.

Extremely boring lectures, and they generally have nothing to do with whats going to be asked on the tests or quizzes.

This class was a harder than it should be for an intro level course. He talks from the powerpoint the entire class and then will take extremely specific questions from the textbook. It's a very boring class to sit through and deceptively difficult. Wait for another prof if you can. Grade consisted of 2 quizzes, 1 midterm, and 1 final

had him for intro to archaeology. he had no idea how to teach the class-all he talks about is how he went to brown university and hasnt taught this class since 1974 (and let me tell you, it's very evident). He only got a 94% on the THIRD try of an exam HE wrote earlier that day. enough said.

Professor Brown spends the great majority of class talking about everything and nothing at the same time. You can take as many notes as you want, but when you look back on them, they won't make much sense. Probably a better professor for upper level classes, not a Freshman Seminar.

This Prof. is very nice. However, do not take a class with him...unless you have a love of the "politic" aspect of archaeology. We bought a book we never used and the thirty page papers on unglazed, brown pottery will make you wish it was finals week instead.

Nice guy, dull lecturer. Really need an interest in archeology to stay awake. Suggest bringing a laptop. Enjoys talking about his college adventures, which spices it up a little bit like a good bedtime story.

This man's lectures are like a dog chasing a pendulum- they make NO sense! Luckily, the class doesn't really build on itself so it's not necessary to understand everything. We talked about things as random as why hobbits never interbred with other species, in a class on colonial archaeology! Funny and charismatic man, but ridiculous class.

professor brown was such a funny guy, and really a personable teacher. He can really ramble on though things when he gets really into it. Not the most interesting class ever...but a cool prof
