This was a great class in African American literature. The course was challenging, especially for non-English majors. But she gave a lot of writing instruction, which was helpful. But be prepared to write a lot!

I had her for African American Literature class and she is an AMAZING PROFESSOR! She has to be one of the fairest, kindest and most understanding teachers I have ever had. Do not listen to other comments, Professor Nadell is GREAT!

Great professor. Really knows her stuff. In a class with some students weren't interested, barely did the reading or spoke, she managed to draw people into interesting discussions. But those students had a negative effect on the class. Why bother taking the class at all if that's how you're going to act?

Awesome class. Fascinating subject and great teacher!! Discussions were interesting and fun and she really pushed us to think for ourselves. For the record, always responded to e-mails quickly. I can't recommend her enough.

Probably one of the worst professors I have taken at BC. I did very well in the class but I would probably never take her again. She NEVER answers emails. She is very vague about what she looks for in her papers. Horrible, horrible professor.

Although she assigns a lot of reading, she's aware that manny students work, have other classes, etc. I think she expects you to read as much as you can from the books to be able to discuss overall themes. She's a fair grader. The grouping of students get irritating and serves little purpose. Take her.

A lot of work and unfortunately no one in the class reads it making it a little boring. I would suggest less and more motivational reading. The class was very unorganized ,but professor is however, very nice and helpful. At the end of the day you look back at it fondly.

I learned a lot from the class, though I can't say much for learning it from this Professor. The "yup, and uh-huhs" at the end of a student's remark I guess just doesn't help in any way (positive or otherwise) I'm hoping that this course will improve in the very near future with perhaps other instructors teaching it as well.

The class discussions are really nice. However, the constant grouping of students is pointless. Don't email her because she will not reply. She does assign a lot of reading and it's not realistic for a student who is taking 4 classes to read all of her material and show your other classes adequate attention.

gives alot of work. tons of readings, a stupid blog we had to post on in response to the readings, 2 lengthy research papers(one of which we had to go to visit a museum for) and a final. i got an excellent grade but the class was very demanding and i felt other classes suffered because of it

I actually liked her. If she sees that your are puting effort and making improvement in her class then she will give you a higher grade. This class consisted of at least 3 papers. You get to re-write your paper if you are not satisfied with the first grade. Does'nt sound too bad.
