Professor Bruners class was such an amazing experience. It was harder than most classes but was one of my favorites because it challenged me to grow in my faith and be a better student. Theres not too many grades so you have to do all the readings and be knowledgeable about them but I would definitely recommend taking him.

He comes off as a hard teacher in the beginning and he may pick a person randomly from the seating chart to ask about the readings a few times but the class itself is worth it. There's only like 30 minutes of reading per week, a group project that's super easy, and 3 Quams (Quiz+Exams) that have 5 questions each.

Professor Bruner is very wise and intelligent when it comes to explaining theology and certain aspects of the bible that would be confusing to someone. He is always ready to answer any questions and is extremely caring of his students. The only rough part is not knowing your grade until the very end. Do your readings and you'll make it though.

Comment:
Taking CLFM with Dr. Bruner was bitter-sweet. His lectures cause you to make you think about the beliefs you grew up with. There is so much to gain from the readings and the lectures, allowing you to get a firm grasp on your identity and beliefs as a Christian, but his 3 quams, 1 semester long group project, and final exam make it hard to get an A

Dr. Bruner is the most intelligent and wise professor I have ever had. The class I took was three hours but it felt like 30 minutes. He discusses every issue with great depth and with a great understanding of theology. If I could give any advice to students at APU it would be to take at least one class with Dr. Bruner.

He is an amazing professor and teaches how you can implement biblical readings into your life. Helps you see a different perspective as a Christian and grades merely on 3 quams, church presentation, and final exam. Don't skip any readings or else you can fall behind. He's a very open minded professor and helps you grow in faith! Highly recommend!

Bruner's lectures are very informative, but he is also extremely opinionated. He assigns many readings, and the class discussions barely cover them. Be ready to be reading and analyzing almost everything yourself. However, the class itself is usually enjoyable and makes you think.

Bruner really opened my mind and made me look at things in a different way and really dig deeper to find the answer. he gives out quams so be prepared for those and do all the readings

I loved Bruner's lectures so much, honestly life changing. BUT his class was so hard. I was worried about it wayyyy too much for a 100 level bible class. The whole class is graded off of like 6 things and his "quams" (quiz +exams) are impossible. I don't know if the good lectures were worth all the homework and stress

Prof. Bruner is the best! He gives incredible lectures that challenge you in new ways and loves to have great discussions. He tries to come across as intimidating because the work is hard, but it is totally worth it! Not an easy A , but for sure attainable if you try hard. He is funny and will joke around, but he also cares about each student!

Professor Bruner's lectures were the sole reason why I did not mind going to school. He takes a unique approach to looking at Christianity&what it means to be Christian. The readings he assigns are very interesting if you are interested in theology&he elaborates by going in depth about the message of the readings. Take him if you're willing to work

Professor Bruner's Christian Ministries class is not easy, and he comes across as intimidating on Day 1. If you just want an A, don't take Bruner. However, I have never been more challenged to think deeply about what I believe than when I've been in his classroom, and for me, the challenge was absolutely worth it.

I loved Professor Bruner! On the first day, he encourages you to drop his class and take another professor because he expects a lot out of you! Even though I have some learning difficulties, he's more than willing to make time for you! The only homework is reading and there is one big group project. Although his class is tough, it changed my life!

Bruner genuinely cares for his students and he'll push you because he also cares enough about the truth to not let you off easy. Some people won't like that, so this is definitely not the professor for them. But if you care about the truth, you care about your life, and you want some wisdom imparted to your soul, no one does it better than Bruner.

Amazing professor!! I did not receive the best grade in this course because I slacked off on the reading. But he is an amazing speaker and I learned SO MUCH. So many of the things he taught I will take with me forever.

You need to live and breathe his lectures and reading. They are essential to passing with a decent grade. When he taught he mentioned that he was just doing the motion of teaching and he could do his lecture in his sleep.

Professor Bruner is the BEST professor I took this semester. There is required readings for every week, and you need to take notes during the lecture if you want to do well on his tests (Quams). The tests are the only thing graded, besides a big group project, which you have to go out and visit a church of not your denomination at least three times

So Bruner is a really phenomenal person and he has a good amount of wisdom when it comes to ministry. However, he promises to have frequent discussions yet he lectures primarily and those lectures are tangential and rarely relate directly to course material. It was normal for us to cover only 5 of the 45 pages we were suppose to cover. Frustrating.

He is an amazing teacher. His lectures contain so much knowlegdge and information about the real world. You learn so much from his class. Theres about 30 mins of reading every day, tests are about 10 questions and they're pretty specific. The final was difficult. Attendance is mandatory. He really wants to get to know his students. Take advantage!
