(Disclaimer: Zoom class, not in person) I would NOT recommend this professor. She is very rude, interrupts students when they are talking, gets mad when people do not ask questions and when they do, and is very unorganized. If you are a student who prefers clarity in assignments and a fair grading system, I would not recommend Professor Cheeks.

Do not take this class, at least not with this professor. She is so rude to her students and never answer students questions without an attitude. Never replies to emails and is super stubborn.

She is very sarcastic and is rude to many of the students. She got on a lot of our nerves because of how much she liked to talk bad about students in front of everyone. Demands that you have the camera on at all times for zoom and is insensitive. There's about 4 essays that require reading and she grades out of 900% and doesn't really update grades

Worst professor!!! Essays due almost every weekend. Unclear directions. Very childish and acts like a child. Gets lost in her own train of thought. Do not take this class with her!! She grades unfairly and gives little explanation of why. She is rude and incapable of having a simple conversation with her students.

2 textbooks required. Very close-minded, stubborn, and rude; it ends up at the student's expense. I have been a solid writer my entire life and I barely got an A in this class. She is very unprofessional; almost like a kid is teaching a college course. I did learn some things, but not worth all the negative things. DO NOT TAKE her if you can.

She's really nice but do not get on her bad side. She assigns essays every week and they are between 800-1500 words long. Not that complicated. I didn't really learn much in her class. As long as you go to class and do well on her papers, you'll pass. Don't let her see you on your phone. She will call you out and put you on the spot.

the class is easy. Her sarcasm is not funny but she thinks it is. If you can handle some rude comments its an easy A. She means well but she is a little rude. Her grading system is clear as well.

Nancy Cheeks is one of the best professors to take for English 113B. She is very clear and concise in her lectures and is a lenient grader. The SI also helped make this class a lot easier I got a B and I'm average in writing.

Professor Cheeks was a tough grader. There are essays every week but you get used to them and she basically gives you a topic and lets you free write. She's hilarious if you're not sensitive. Most students took everything the wrong way but it was never personal. Just participate as much as possible. Her office hours are helpful

Hands down, she is one of the worse teachers I have ever had in my life! She never called on me in class & always gave me a C in every assignment I did. I started thinking, maybe I am an awful writer? But later on I took another Chicanos class and passed it with flying colors! Do not take her class! Unless you like to kiss up!

Professor Cheeks is helpful. But she has a personality that can sometimes seem offensive. If you don't get irritated that much , then your good. I wouldn't really recommend for students to take her only because the class was really boring and it just doesn't seem interesting. You have many essays to do every week.

She is a great teacher, but expects for everyone to know what is expected from her. Just focus on being on her good side and do not get on her bad side. Bring your textbook to class EVERYDAY. Attend class EVERYDAY. It does count towards your grade. I got an A-. And make sure to turn in all your essays on time. I definitely recommend her.

I took Professor Cheeks' CHS 115 class and I genuinely believe that she is crazy. She spoke of "voices" that she heard even when there was absolutely no one talking. She believes that she is always correct and refuses to listen to others. In order to pass her class you have to suck up to her and visit her office hours. I would NOT recommend!!!

Professor Nancy Cheeks was amazing!!!:) I got an A ! The essay to being with were minimum 700 words. Two weeks the number of letters increased. The final was almost a 7-10 page essay! i took her fall of 2011 spring 2012. I had amazing experience and thanks to her I am confident with my writing skills. I was a C student in HS in enlgish

I never felt like I was in high school again until I enrolled in Nancy Cheeks class for CH S 113B. Her pedagogy & her inability to clearly repudiate assignments led to a lot of confusion in the class for most students. This prof. forgot to grade 3 of my essays, never graded my final portfolio, and gave me a B in the class with no feedback. AVOID!
