Dr. Orphee is a very smart man and knows a great amount about economics, but does not know how to teach. He talks in circles and confuses the class and himself. His tests are extremely hard and broad. Be prepared to read A LOT. His lectures are beyond boring, but attendance is critical in order to pass. If you take Orphee, good luck.

He is a nice man, but he can't teach to save his life. The book was crazy expensive and you end up just teaching yourself things and there are no tutors available to help in the tutoring center... Every single one of my classmates hate his class but luckily I can take regular econ next semester instead. Sadly, he is the only honors econ teacher.

Professor forgot that there was class one week lol. He has a hard time keeping track of whats going. His book is 50$ and should be used as a coloring book. I didn't buy the textbook and didnt the hw at all. I ended up getting a A- by just showing up to class . Easy A but total waste in terms of what you get out of the class educationally :X

He doesn't let you leave the room and goes on random tangets trying to explain something that is easier than how he demonstrates. He takes forever to answer your emails and phone call. Avoid taking his class if you can. What his essay book has to do with economics I dont understand he's trying to promote something no one will buy ever.

Do not take this professor! while the man himself is smart, his teaching style is borderline mental instability. He gives ridiculous assignments, makes you write in 10 font and is not understandable. He is my Microeconomics professor, yet the final paper he assigned is on Macro economics. goes on tangents about philosophy that dont pertain to class

I would not recommend you to take this teacher. He got frustrated very quickly. He gave outrageous homework that did not make any sense and was not clear in what he wanted. He is not easy to work with and does not try to help his students. He will randomly pick on students and embarrass them. If you want a good semester do not take him.

Extremely boring and doesnt stop talking, doesnt answer questions. Never let the class out early the entire semester. he makes you read irrelevant essays from the book he wrote and then write long analysis papers on them, longer then the essay itself. Doesnt let you leave the room during class for the bathroom and gives tons of writing assignments.

I agree with most raters here. I took his Into to Philosophy class. Frequently discusses tangents in depth, has trouble answering questions. Homeworks were very easy as you could do it over and over until all answers were right and get full marks. I got an A because I sent him a funny video about philosophy and was very active in the classroom.

This clas was very informative. Dr Orphee is very respectful so long as the respect is mutual. He is very understanding. If you are a student whom is constantly skipping school, this is not the class. Do your homework, participate in intellectual conversations & show up. 3 test and a term paper. You'll do fine.
