Dr. Buntinas is a really great professor. I had him for Probability 2 and I went to office hours when I didn't understand the material and he honestly was determined to make sure you understood it well. He is super approachable too and doesn't make you feel silly for not knowing the material. His exams/quizzes were challenging. overall great prof!

Very nice person and a brilliant professor. Always very helpful.The class is very hard but because of this great teacher you can do well and what is the most important, you can learn and understand the material.

Buntinas is a nice guy and obviously loves his profession, but his lectures rarely cover the subjects in the assignments, leaving you to learn everything yourself. Attending his lectures are completely pointless

Comment:

I've had him for two classes; he's one of my faves. Homework is due every time class meets, but NOT on exam days or after breaks! Homework is reasonable in length and difficulty, keeps you on top of the material but isn't overwhelming. He gets flustered at times during proofs, but it's endearing. Passionate about math, caring about students.

I've had him now for a few classes and can honestly say he's one of the most helpful professors in the department. Always has a full day of office hours before quizzes/tests. Has office hours 9-5 pretty much every day during the week before the final, even offers to come in on Sunday. Super nice, very clear, really cares about his students.

Say what you want about him being a nice guy, but this is teaching, not a personality contest. He is, without a doubt, the most confusing and useless teacher I've had at Loyola. I don't think he's a bad guy, but he needs to learn how to teach.

Had him for a full year of Prob/Stats. He was a nice, helpful guy, but his Midterm/Final was SUPER hard. However, 25% of your grade is homework, which is an easy A. Take him if you love the subject, but WARNING: VERY HARD TESTS!

Buntinas is a brilliant man, but is kind of scatter brained at times. Often loses his spot in proofs or lectures, but it's not because he is incompetent. Incredibly smart man, but just so so on dealing with students. 2 Quizzes, Mid Term, Final, and Daily Homework. Take Analysis 2 with him, it won't get better with others.

Claims to be helpful, but if you go to him, he is very confusing and you feel like he wants you out of there. Class is nonsense, he has no sense of order when putting notes on the board, very random. The book is useless, his lectures have no corelation. You have to suck up to him big time to get him to even notice you. Try the other teachers.

Extremely helpful, to the point and visual. He truely cares about the students, breaks complicated proofs into simple stemps. He's simply a wonderful being. Take him for any upper level Math class.

I don’t know what u, people, are talking about. I loved him. Easiest prof. I have ever had. Repeats things 100 times. And if you still don’t get it, go to him. He is the most patient and helpfull guy at Loyola. The book is very clear. If you do the HW - this class is very easy. Highly recommend!!!

unless you have a basic understanding of statistics to begin with, you may be lost if you take this class. i had no previous classes dealing with stats and felt way over my head when i took it this year, and he is the type of teacher to assume you already know how to do things.

I've taken several classes with him and absolutely loved him! It is true that you will have to work harder and study outside of class to do well in his classes, but you come out learning a whole lot more. He also loves his students and will go out of his way to help you. Loved him!

This class sucked!! The professor talked AT you the entire time. He puts nonsensical scribbles all over the board without fully explaining them, and assigns homework (to be graded) on chapters we haven't covered. Don't bother taking this class, it's not worth it.

This teacher is terrible! Every other word from him is "um" and "uh". He himself sounds confused about STATS. He also puts 4 problems on the board, and solves them at different times. Very unclear. Don't take him!

VERY BORING CLASS! All that he does all class is give examples using bingo chips or cards, it is not fun! If you take this class, don't bother going to class because that doesn't help with anything. Just make sure you turn in the homework and go for tests.
