Easily one of the smartest people I have ever talked to. What a class! Relevant topics, great discussions, and insightful sociological thinking. Dr. Nelson reaches out to every student and challenges them to think outside of the box and challenge social norms. He has given me a new perspective on education. Thanks, Randy, you will be missed!

Very clear and easy to understand. Stimulates and encourages discussion. Understands the 'game' and how to play it and he'll teach you too if you want. He'll help you realize that you need to teach yourself, and help you learn not to rely on the 'plant' or 'lunkhead' to do it for you. Heck he'll even teach you how to cheat if you want to. AYOR

I was curious to see if Randy was still teaching and luckily for Lakehead students he is. He was one of my all time favorites back in the early 80's. He got us thinking outside the box, & so I try & do that with my students now. Thanks Randy!

Finally, a prof who cares about what students think. Such a down-to-earth guy who knows a ton about everything. Insightfull and very helpfull on assignments. Writes about what he knows, so listen when he talks.

In my final year of Schooling, ironically, I have found a teacher that I actually enjoy listening to and learning from!! Randy is an excellent prof, he's engaging, entertaining, and I thorougly enjoyed his class. Know your stuff though, and make sure you attend class regularly. His exams are challenging even if you never miss a lecture.
