Rick is a great history teacher who makes the material interesting and accessible. His courses help you connect major historical themes and periods, instead of being rote memorization. Mostly lectures with some discussions; he used primary texts and period films instead of a textbook. Manageable homework. Great class, I took away a lot from it.

I had Prof. Jobs for a 3-hr long weekly class on the History of European Socialism through Film - the first class I have ever fallen asleep during. Jobs clearly knows what he's talking about and is a great lecturer, but unless you are really interested in the subject-matter it can be a little difficult to keep interest.
