Comment:
Do not take this course! There are three exams overall- one of which is your final, and the content has little to do with what he discusses in class. He does not hand back assignments besides quizzes and exams, so you don't have a very good idea of what your grade is until final grades are entered. Very monotone and wasn't easily accessible.

His schedule is pretty solid, lectures on Tuesdays, and movies on Thrusdays. The flim questions are usually never graded from what I can remember and you only have 2 tests, and your final. Most of the content is from your book and notes but sometimes things were on there I barely remember or he BRIEFLY disucssed.

He was very monotoned, boring and overall didn't care about your grade. His test are 60% true or false. Unless you can memorize everything, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Comment:
Lectures are every Tuesday and then a boring film on Thursday. His lectures are dry, monotone, and never make logical sense, he just talks at you. Make sure you follow the syllabus because he will not remind you of what is coming up. I never got back one film questionnaire or either of the essays we wrote. Definitions have to be very very specific.

This was the most boring class I took this year. He drones on for a very long time with no class involvement and then you watch an old movie. If you want an easy A, you can take this class but make sure you never skip.

So basically you get 2 absences. Tests are mainly true and false. Every Thursday we watch movies and theres maybe 3 quizzes thrown in where you define 10 terms. Seems easy? HA. Plot twist: the true and false have nothing to do with your notes, the movies are boring, and the only two tests are Midterm and Exam. So yeah. Don't do this to yourself.

He sends video guides by email an HOUR before class starts and expects us to have them printed out before the beginning of class. Some of us can't do that because we have other classes and it's so frustrating. Also, he hardly ever talks about anything to do with anthropology.

He is very bright and knows his subject matter. However, he does not communicate it very well. The lectures are prone to stray from the message, so the notes can be hard to take. The movies were interesting examples of class content. If you can take this class from someone else, do it

Literally the most boring person i've ever listened to and terrible at teaching. Makes you memorize names of people that are absolutely unimportant and doesn't tell you at all what to expect on his tests.

he knows his stuff, but he's pretty boring. can be long winded at times. as long as you half pay attention you'll do fine. on a good note, he treats it like an intro class and doesn't make it hard.

Had him for for night class once a week. One of the most intelligent people I've met, but bad at teaching. Not very clear on what he wants us to know. He would lecture for about an hour or less and the rest of the time was a movie.Be prepared to read the text and take lots of notes.

He has a lot of knowledge on the particular subject, but he doesn't know how to teach it. His movies are very boring, and his ways of teaching are confusing. Overall, I won't take another class by him; but if you enjoy boring and whack classes, by all means, you are more than welcome to.

Do not take this professor. Smart in the subject but CAN'T teach it to save his life. I promise you will regret it if you take him. He is a very unclear person on what he expects.

It seems like he is just a guy who works at the anthropology museam not really a professor. He could probably answer any question you have about the subject, but he's horrible at teaching it. He seems liek a nice person though.
