Negrini is a great guy, but when it comes to keeping a class awake, it didn't go so well. I'm not one to fall asleep in classes, but this one changed that. The class itself isn't bad at all, so long as you read the book. I found the book was more helpful than the lectures. But combine the book and lecture and you have a great combo.

The professor is very nice, but the class was the most boring class I have taken to date (as a sophomore). He showed powerpoints with pictures and did not try to explain them. Furthermore, the lab was exceedingly annoying. Avoid this class if possible. AVOID!

Read the book, especially the lab manual. Do ALL assignments. Study before each exam! Ask tons of questions. Dr. Negrini is, by far, the best geology professor. However, he wants you to learn. His class is not easy.

should be an example to other teachers as far as interest in the subject without shoving it down your throat. National Geographic and the science channel combined. Very nice person

Geophysics is a difficult subject and should only be taken if you are going to work in Geology. He spent too much time on seismic reflection and seismic refraction and very little time on well logs. He's intimidating and frequently comes across as angry about being in the classroom.

This class was difficult. His lectures are pretty boring. You HAVE TO READ THE TEXT. However, he does try to crack a joke or two, and the field trip is very interesting and pretty fun.

*sigh* So I'm not a fan of rocks, nor do I care where they came from, so I must emphasize that my perspective is quite bias. However, his lectures were very boring and monotonous and though he is highly interested in his field, I did not find his passion to be contagious. I didn't understand most of the material;felt as though I was in a grad class

Personaly, a great guy and he'll try to get the whole class to be geology majors. The class was interesting, but I personally still despise rocks (not that Dr. Negrini didn't try to change that!)

Great teacher. He knows what he's talking about, though a bit boring. If you go to class with the mindset that it will be boring, then you won't learn anything, though. He is a typical science teacher: absolutely loves his subject and cares about his students and is pretty geeky. Really helpful if you ask him, but he's clueless with names.

In retrospect, the fact that he showed us slideshows of his vacations is pretty funny. At the time, I was fighting to keep my eyelids propped open. The fieldtrip was a bit interesting, though.

Bored. Class seemed like it was measured in the geological time scale. One hour took eons.

If I had been more plugged in, I would have done better. I hardly did a thing, but STILL got a B- now that rocks. My advice: read the book and KNOW the details =)

Dr. Negrini is a really great guy. He helps you out tremendously IF YOU ASK. His class was not boring to me but thats because i am interested in geology. Its because of Negrini that my major is now geology. Dr. Negrini is funny and is not intimidating. Take his class. He's been almost everywhere. Work load was really easy, no HW just lecture.
