He will take off 15 points for a fragment sentence. He seemed very annoyed that he had a 8 week course to teach and it was known in his emails. You can't get ahead even if you wanted too. I believe he's one of those professors that doesn't believe in a perfect 100. Definitely wouldn't take him again. So much attitude for an online course from him

Comment:

Professor Wittrup did a great job of making sure we were all comfortable around our classmates. This made the speeches towards the end of the class more tolerable. If you're afraid of taking speech like I was, definitely take professor Wittrup's class.

I took his online class for spring 2019 12 week course he GRADES HARDDD! you have to be specific when turning in assignments. Had like 3-4 short assignments a week. We had 3 multiple choice test you can take at home on blackboard. 1 recorded speech and a group video call on blackboard which was easy. you just had to participate thats it.

Professor Wittrup was awesome to work with! Expectations and criteria for all assignments are written out clearly. Although attendance is not mandatory, perfect attendance is rewarded at the end of the semester towards your weighed grade.

Professor wittrup is high strung. He gives harsh criticism on individual speeches. If you take this class READ textbook, because the class has nothing to do with test. He does give you points at the end of semester for perfect attendance

I LOVED professor Wittrup, as someone with social anxiety he was a bit intimidating at first, but is actually super inspiring and fun. I loved going to speech and he gets everyone to contribute to the class.

Wittrup states that he has been teaching for 31 years, & maybe he has been at it for too long. He is not a good professor. He is rude and unprofessional. If you take this class do not focus too much on the content of your individual speech, just DO NOT do anything on his list of pet peeves he hands out. I have never disliked a class as much as his.

Really study for the quizzes, they were hard and you have to work for it. Other than that the class is easy. Kinda annoying that in class he never preps you for the quizzes, you have to read the book and use his study guide to do well

Great professor. This was a night class over 3 hours long. He managed to keep everyone awake. Truly good professor. Great lectures and very caring with his students. Really seems to care and he grades fairly. High recommend him.

He is an outstanding professor. He is one of those professors you will miss at the end of the semester. The best class to take is the 8-week session (which is the one I took). Long hours but so worth it when you finish. Expect a speech at the end, but don't worry it's not hard.

He really was a great teacher there really wasnt ever a dull moment. I really hate giving speeches and honestly some of my speeches at the start of class sucked for sure but he would always tell me positive things and it did help me improve a lot.

Wittrup's classes are the funnest most involved classes ive ever had! Test are tough but to be fair he gives a study guide that tells you ecactly what to study with the pg # He will help ANYTIME asked. There are pop quizzes and attendance is very important!!!

Wittrup has the most amazing personality ever-- he bops all around the place, gets really excited about his lectures and class. Every day was fun. With that said, his tests are really hard! They are based on the reading and the questions come from random facts; the other questions are very "gray" True/False.

Very unique person, probably the most energetic professor Ive ever had. Loves group work, which I personally found pretty fun. Would highly recommend for everybody looking for a speech professor. He is EXTREMELY helpful in helping with speeches and group projects, and will put forth as much effort to help as you put in. Great Professor!

I HIGHLY recommend Russel. He is a fabulous communicator, the classes are relatively fun, and he cares a lot about how you're doing and is willing to help. His test are hard, but he gives you an EXTREMELY detailed study guide of EXACTLY what will be on the test. It's up to you if you want to do well. He sets you up for success.

Class is pretty fun. But his tests are SO HARD! Also, he grades hard on the online assignments. He always gave me at least 2 points off no matter how much information I gave. That's 2 off a 20 point assignment, that adds up quick. A very frustarating class.

Wittrup is an okay teacher didn't feel like i really learned anything in there. He will put you in groups most of the time and if you come in with your brother/sister or bf/gf he will never put you in a group with them. Oh and he twirls his long nose hairs in class ew. Exams ridcusly hard. groups are easy just talk.

I really hate public speaking but Wittrup actually did a good job of making it almost fun. It's obvious he loves teaching and loves his job, but the tests are pretty hard and I don't recommend missing class. He wanted to give the students help and he wanted us to succeed, too. Highly recommended.
