Nice and ill go above and beyond to make sure you don't miss anything given in class. He even goes as far as mailing students handouts they missed. He's very flexible when it comes to making up tests. My only problem w him is that I didn't actually learn much beyond what I already knew. His lectures drag a lot but you don't get much out of them.

Professor Karl is an easy B. You have to work for an A, but the class will not be set up for you to fail! He tries to make sure everything is clear for all students and loves questions. He is always willing to help. His class is exam heavy with 4 exams 25% each, so if that is worrying to you don't fret! he offers ton of extra credit by showing up!!

Bottom line about this professor is that his tests are easy. He only assigns 4 exams, and those are the only grades you will receive. No attendance, no homework, and always optional extra credit. The downfall is each exam is 25% of your grade, so if you mess one up, you are screwed. The tests are ONLY ABOUT THE HANDOUTS, grab them and leave.

One of my favorite law professors. Expectations were very clear. Lectures were interesting and well-organized. He always offered to help everyone, and responded to emails quickly. Very laid back-- seemed to wish to see everyone succeed. My legal writing improved in his class. Definitely take him! Wish he taught other classes.

4 exams - 25% each. Final exam is not cumulative. Attendance is not mandatory - but highly recommend going to class. Very old school with lecturing, but lays out everything you need to know for exams during class. No textbook or homework.

Very easy online class. Just get all the discussion board postings done by the end of the semester. 4 exams that are all open notes. No book required. Types up his own notes which makes it easier to interpret because he knows what he's talking about.

He is extremely boring! You will dread going to this class everyday. The material is easy, BUT his tests are death traps. Dont bother asking him a question he will just talk down to you and say you are wrong. His notes are handwritten and the ones that are typed are from a type writer (no Joke). He only helps out those who fail. DO NOT TAKE

He his one of the best professors I have had at UML. I have taken three if his classes. No textbook is needed at all. He says he uses one in business law, but you can pass without it. All tests are based off of class notes and handouts. Tests are all multiple choice only. Great professor!

I had Family Law online with Prof. Karl. No textbook but weekly questions based on lecture notes that you post on the discussion board. The midtemd final are taken on campus (or proctored if too far away). As long as you read and have an understanding of his lecture notes the exams will be easy. I learned alot and thought the course was interesting

He thought Real Estate Law, I was really interested prior to enrolling in the class simply because I am a legal studies minor... Professor Karl is an okay guy, but he made the class boring. Textbook wasn't used, attendance is mandatory (if you plan on passing the class, that is), he has sloppy handwriting (you'll see what I'm talking about).

I'm taking Real Estate Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law with him. He's the easiest professors I've had. His test are straightforward. No book or hw. Attendance isn't mandatory. He's so chill and so understanding. Practice exams are 5 extra points on your exams. Only 4 or 5 exams. Go to class and take notes, and you'll get an A. TAKE HIS CLASSES!

Great Teacher!! Took three of his classes (Family Law, Real Estate Law and Criminal Law) Attendance is mandatory and he teaches very well. He covers the material that you need to know multiple times even for exams. Tells you what on the exams but expect you to take notes and ask question if you do not understand. Good guy.

Sloths and Degens do not take this class as you are required to come to every class or else you will miss vital notes for the test. Karl will not grant condonation towards any of y'all. He is a good guy. Knows a lot about the material. It's a shame no one asks him more questions. If you are sincere and diligent expect any grade above a B.
