She has a bit of a "social filter" problem because a lot of the stuff she says isn't PC, but her class was pretty good. I'm not a science major, but it was manageable. We just had one paper and 3 tests. Goes over study guide and hand-feeds you answers if you don't skip study sessions. Lectures are long but she emails the PwPoint slides.

This teacher in my eyes was not as clear as I would have liked. She tends to back track on what she has said before and tends toward a harsh attitude. I believe she is a little rough around the edges, but easy class if you attend everyday.

This was the worst professor I've had in college. She is full of herself and extremely rude to students. She told me I was going to fail at life... but I got an A in the class. She was awful. Don't buy the book! I never opened it once. DON'T TAKE THIS PROF!

Great class! The teacher relates every topic to real life situations and is good at making the difficult stuff comprehendable. She is very funny and is very helpful if you get stuck. Take her class!

Anybody who says that Dr. R. is unapproachable is crazy. She was always helpful and everything that she presented in class was clear. She has a true understanding of earth science and is great at passing her knowledge on to students. Just go to class, study the powerpoints and ask for clarification when needed. Dr. Rutherford is a wonderful instructor! Very pleasant person. She is very helpful, and is very willing to help. She is very accessible outside of class. Always answers her e-mail in a timely fashion. Very clear on what she expects of you. Print slides and attend lecture, and you will do great!

Make sure to study off of her power points. Didn't do 2 much outta the book. She likes 2 try to b personal w. ppl in class. I learned a lot in this class. She was easy to talk to when u need help. I don't get all these bad reviews. Dr. Rutherford is a riot. I had a great experience with her. She is helpful, easy to talk to, funny, easy going. If you show up for class and pay attention, you'll do well.

You can get an A in her class, but you MUST attend class, take good notes, and do all assignments. She may seem unapproachable, but she's pretty easy to talk to and can be lenient under the correct circumstances. Her class is challenging, but college isn't about everything being handed to you! You'll work your butt off, but she's a great professor!

She thinks she is above and beyond helping you because she has "DR" in front of her name. She doesn't describe projects well and then expects you to figure it out. She'll never admit she's wrong and is totally condescending and rude. She speaks down to you like she's better than you and you have to work your butt off to get a B in her class.

Why is a person going to get a c- in a class they need for there degree? I passed physics and chemistry with a b got a c- in earth science? Something is messed up! Rude, degrading and unapproachable. Horrible,horrible, horrible prof. Do not take this prof. for anything. She is crazy, has the most abstact questions on her exams, enjoys setting students up to fail. I am a 3.8 honor student and I struggled to get a B in her class. Take my word for it, AVOID THIS PROF!!!!!
