Comment:

Dr. Masson is the reason why I became an English major. He has such interesting classes where he shows how English literature relates to other areas of life. He expects a lot from his students so there will be lots of reading and tough grading but it is worth it.

Comment:

He's a knowledgable professor who gives thorough feedback. If you've got an exam with short answer prepare to be annihilated no matter how prepared you think you are, but the essay-type exams are of average difficulty. Pro is that you really don't NEED the textbook for most work, con is that the lectures have very little visual aid.

His lectures are extremely boring and hard to connect with. He often goes off on tangents and much of what he says in class is completely irrelevant to the work he expects you to do. Knowledgable, but doesn't present information in an accessible way. Ridiculous marker. Some of the smartest people in my class (English majors) get very bad marks.

I liked his class. He was very knowledgeable of the topics and often went above the actual literature. He is a tough marker but fair, read his comments and you will improve. Only thing is that he does not seem to like when you go to office hours and tries to rush through the time. Overall, good prof and would take again

Not clear in instructions and then gives YOU an unfair mark. Disorganized. Wishy washy on instructions, changes his mind. I don't think he remembers what he says sometimes. Goes on tangents about the same things all the time. I didn't enjoy it, unclear and takes it out on you. Tricks you on tests.

I really like Dr. Masson. I have had him several times. If you show interest in his class and love English you will most likely really enjoy his class. He isn't the best with people who hate English or aren't invested in his course material. So at least pretend. He can go off on rants sometimes but I find is still very clear on what he wants.

Excellent teacher, wise, insightful and very knowledgeable. He may not seem immediately engaging, so you must pay attention, but it is well worth the effort.

Pretentious and overblown, a brilliant man nonetheless. He tends to repeat himself and he need to get off his romanticism kick because its actually getting in the way of his teaching and his relevance. He needs to listen to the authors more rather than his own pre-formed opinion...but a good man.

Extremely attractive...like, extremely. But not only physically. His personality is sexy. Anyway, he is one of the only professors to make such an effort to encourage me in my life and in my academics. He is brilliant and he teaches with a straight forward method. He tells you what he wants--just listen to him in class[even when he's ranting].

I love Dr. Masson. He is a genuine good guy who cares for his students and there welfare in and out of the class. He is helpful when asked and is not afraid to share his opinion. I repect him as a professor and enjoy his company as an individual.

Listen and learn. His views on religion and life may not be what you believe but he is passionate and thoughtful. As for literature - he tells you what he wants to see in your paper in class - no surprises. He may abrupt, talk to him respectfully one on one and you will find that he really cares about you! Tyndale is lucky to have him!

He's A great teacher, but you need to get on his good side. He's particular. He's wonderful when you need extra help on developing your ideas or if you have questions about an essay. If you think you were marked unfairly definatly go and talk it our with his. He's very opne to that!
